  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

A smart buyer would buy a Hyundai Genesis now, despite it being one of the worst selling cars this year according to WSJ. But here is why a smart buyer should buy it now. Keith Griffin reports from TorqueNews.

One of the 10 worst selling new cars in the business is the Hyundai Genesis and that represents a great opportunity for a savvy buyer.

As reported by 24/7WallStreet.com, the Hyundai Genesis is the 7th worst selling new car in the American marketplace. The average Genesis has been sitting on the dealer lot for 119 days and has an average incentive of $3145. The Edmunds.com True Market Value for my part of Connecticut puts the 3.8-liter Genesis at $33,486, which is about 10 percent below MSRP.

Tons of words have been written about the 2015 Hyundai Genesis that was introduced at the Detroit Auto Show. But the model that is getting overlooked is the 2014 Hyundai Genesis because who in their right mind would buy one now with a great new model rolling out later this spring?

Well, a smart buyer would purchase a 2014 Genesis right now if he or she is looking for a great sedan that is a former North American Car of the Year. Play your cards right smart shopper and you're probably not going to pay much more than for a Sonata but get a lot more car. (Edmunds' True Market Value for a fully-loaded Sonata is $31,475, which puts you in the ballpark of a well-equipped Genesis.)

Truth of the matter is there would be no shame in owning a 2014 Hyundai Genesis. Sure, it's going to lack some of the bells and whistles of the 2105 model but you're going to pay a lot less. Think about it. You could own a great near-luxury car for the price of a common midsize.

If all else fails and consumers don't snap up the Genesis, limo companies should start knocking on Hyundai's door to get deals on what could be the next Lincoln Town Car for airport runs.

I am surprised that Limo companies have not gotten the Genesis yet. It is far superior to and way better value than the Lincolns available. (MKS, MKX and MKT) The Lincolns sell in Canada for $65-75,000 and an R-spec only lists for $54,000 before incentives and bargaining. I have not sat in the rear of a Lincoln lately but do not think there is any more room than my Genesis. If I had a Limo license or ran a company, the yard would be full of black Gennys.

TorqueNews: Where is the alleged quote from the WSJ (Wall Street Journal?) that says the Genesis is one of the worst selling vehicles of the year?

Totally agree. I would much rather ride in the Geni than a Lincoln. Those domestics depreciate like hell too.. Its a much classier car. The Lincolns look SOOO dated.

He didn't say WSJ. He cited a blog but provided no link. Bad form.

This is what TorqueNews said:

"A smart buyer would buy a Hyundai Genesis now, despite it being one of the worst selling cars this year according to WSJ."

Just asking to see the WSJ story.

BacktoHyundaibychoice I fixed it, just provided the source. My bad. Please accept my apology.

Well its not exactly rocket science. Im sure any car that has made it pretty public that a redesign is coming, the current year of the model wont sell very well.
