HI folks,
My beloved Genesis (1st owner) is no longer starting for me due to 0 psi compression pressure in all 4 cylinders at 105,000km. Initially i got camshaft and crankshaft sensor fault codes P0016 and P0340). Replaced both sensors.
I noticed the oil is metallic and the camshaft sensor was covered in metal (the sensor itself is plastic but the magnet inside glued to metal dust to it).
I can see the timing chain is not where it should be, i suspect the chain jumped or the gears jumped.
I am trying to find the exact engine type/model specs; a vin decoder shows it as EngineCapacity: 2000 CC - THETA FR EngineType: DOHC - TCI/MPI.
The wiki on the Genesis coupe start at 2011+ on the Theta II engine., Hyundai Theta engine - Wikipedia. What's alarming about this wiki, even thought 2010 is not listed, is that it showed over half a million engines recalled due to metallic oil and a class action lawsuit. Am i seeing the same problem on my 2010 2.0T (Turbo RS cover) model Theta FR engine?
