If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Any news/advice/prices? I just found out that an extended service contract was even available!

Service contract is going to be dealer-specific, not from Hyundai.

Get your HPP here:

I called Serena several months ago and cancelled my dealer HPP contract because she was $500 cheaper. I'm planning on repurchasing my warranty again from her.

Besides for interest rates extended contracts are where the dealers finance managers can really make there salary and profit. So be careful and negotiate. They still make money for the volume of warranties they sell so negotiate as low as possible. They rather sell than have you not buy one. I purchased the best HPP they had for $1650 for my 5.0. Definitely worth getting one

I bought a 100/10/0 HPP from First Hyundai on 5/31/15 for my 5.0. Serena Mariani was not the business manager at that time. I bought mine from another individual but nevertheless, the price offered by FH was the best of the 6 or 7 dealers that I contacted. Additionally, my purchase experience from them was exceptional.

Their price paid was less than 1/2 of what my selling dealer was quoting at the time.

His name was (is) Mateo. At the time I bought mine he was the HPP point of contact at First Hyundai. I understand from others that I've referred to him that he has moved along. Again, as long as FH is still offering competitive pricing the individual doesn't matter much.

How much did you pay? Was it a Wrap or the Platinum Comprehensive?

My purchase is almost completed and should be getting the car by week end. Prices for coverage have been all over the place. I've learned more about Vehicle Service Contracts than I ever wanted to. Cost, coverage, exclusions...feeling a headache coming on.

My credit union has a 84 month/100,000 mile/$50 deductible with National Auto Care for $1187. Problem is, National has very low ratings online and their BBB rating is dismal.

My insurance company (USAA) has a 72 month/100,000 mile/$0 deductible with Assurant Solutions for $1487. Assurant has been around a while with middling ratings. They also don't have 24/7 support. So, don't break down after 6pm!

My auto broker has a 72 month/100,000 total mileage/$100 deductible with SafeGuard for $1586. This is the same company backing the HPP plan below, except it doesn't have Hyundai branding. Also, the exclusions are different.

Hyundai Protection Plan Platinum Comprehensive 10 years/100,000 mile/$0 deductible from the dealer as $2500. YIKES! Hyundai outsources it's claims handling to SafeGuard. They have above average ratings and this plan is accepted at all Hyundai dealers. There are exclusions, so read the contract available online.

Endurance has coverage, but they won't talk to you about coverage until your near the end of your warranty.

You need to shop around on the HPP, that price is way too high. It should be around $1400.

hey man, 3-4 years ago, I bought my 2009 Genny. dealership want 2300 for the Hyuundai platinum warranty, but it was this forum that pointed out to me by an individual name Hau B, he is with Jim Ellis Hyundai in Atlanta Georgia, he charged me a fair price for both the HPP and prepaid maintenance. I think its was 15-1600. good guy to work with, I think he got promoted since, but he still deal with customer, I know this because I contacted him yesterday regarding possibly buying extended warranty for 2015 genesis but his email still works.

haub@jimellis.com

just emailed him, saying you want a HPP, He'll ask for your VIN and give you a quote.

Where are you getting $1400? The car I'm looking to cover is a 2015 Hyundai Genesis 5.0 13,631 miles.

See my first post in this thread. I got mine for 1200.

Serena is no longer there. I spoke to another person in the F&I office and was quoted over $2000

The price goes up once you hit 1 year old and/or 12,000 miles. I negotiated with my local dealer based on quotes I got from Hyundai dealers on the internet. Search for Hyundai HPP. The price will probably be a couple hundred more because of the age/mileage.

Wow - on both accounts. That's too bad :(

Yeah, it sucks! I really wanted to go with the manufacturer backed contract. AutoNation Hyundai wanted $2765 for the 10/100/0. I can get a contract through my bank with 72/110/0 for $1487. That's probably what I'll settle for. There are just so many nasty/sleazy providers out there. I have to remind people that this isn't a "warranty", but rather an "insurance policy".

So after multiple emails and phone calls, I finally purchased my Hyundai Platinum Extended Warranty. Serena is gone and the new guy Rod never returned emails or calls. Many others never replied to my email. Just about every great deal listed in this forum is gone because the finance manager no longer works for the dealership. The finance guy sets the price so a great deal at a dealership turns into a ripoff when a new guy takes over.

Sarkis at Tarbox Hyundai: 6YR/100000 PREMIUM COVERAGE $2468.00

Kenny Pursley at Annapolis Hyundai: $0 Ded. 6yr/120k- $2120.00 $100 Ded. 6yr/120k- $2012.00

Frank from Rockwell Hyundai was almost 2k. He told me that his dealership was one a just a few Hyundai dealerships that sell a true Hyundai extended warranty. That I needed to purchase it when the car was new to get the lowest price. And....his dealership had new owners who were taking over Monday and might raise the prices on the warranties. I can't make this stuff up!

So my local dealership where I bought my car last June offered me $1680 for a Platinum 6yr/120k $0 deductible. I negotiated the sales tax and got the quoted price OTD. The price ended up at $1550 + tax. Only $150 more than Serena's amazing price, so I'm very happy. I wish I could have purchased out of state tax free and saved $130. Note my car is less than a year old and just under 10k miles.

So I'm going to give a plug for:

$1680 for a Platinum 6yr/120k $0 deductible
Not sure I understand. Is that 6 additional years on top of the standard 5 year new car warranty? What about the 120K miles, is that total or additional?

Just 6 years. I put on a lot of miles so 60k new car warranty would last me 3 years tops. So in a sense, I'm doubling my warranty coverage until 120k miles.

I might stand to be corrected:

Looks like the time starts today (so 6 years from today) or until I hit 120k miles....whichever comes first.
