  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I love those seats on the 2015!!! Oh how I wish the pre-2015s had side bolsters like the 2015 will. Even the contrast stitching looks pretty cool.

That headrest looks like the Hindenburg landing.

The new seats are very comfortable, I was able to get in the car and check everything out.

Massive hyperbole is a gross understatement. Where does the author of that article get the idea that Hyundai is even dreaming about an AMG competing Genesis sedan? The N class announcement was specifically about a i20 based rally car, not a high performance line of sedans. See here: http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1089031_hyundai-launches-n-performance-division
And that article speculates (and it really is speculation) that future N class cars would be variants of the Veloster and Genesis coupe. If Hyundai isn't even clear on whether to bring a new R-Spec Genesis to the US market, it defies logic to think that they are even considering putting the kind of Won into developing something to go head to head with an E63 AMG S. Hell, that car has a twin turbo 5.5 litre V8 that puts out almost 600 HP, a killer variable mode transmission and a very refined chassis. Starting at $100,000 and going up from there, fully equipped it is nearly $120,000. http://www.mercedes-amg.com/e63s.php?lang=eng That's double the cost of an Equus, and look how few of those Hyundai is even shipping to the US. I really like my 2013 R-spec, but let's get real. Hyundai makes nice cars, and they compete quite well with the mid range euro sedans. But Hyundai's success has been in delivering a good value proposition for cost conscious buyers, not in the high cost, high performance autobahn blaster market. IMHO

Hyundai will eventually do a proper performance line for the Genesis (along w/ its upcoming compact RWD sedan and new coupe) - but whether that it'll be for the 2G Genesis or the next gen, who knows?

Hyundai hasn't fiddled around with a supercharged Tau for nothing (having since switched to twin-turbos) and they realize that having a performance trim (and not the current R-Spec trim) is impt. for credibility in the segment (which is why Infiniti is pushing to bring out its own proper performance line).

At the very least for the 2G, Hyundai should do another R-Spec (like the M-Sport), which, while not adding power/performance, should add things like better bolstered seats, etc.

Hyundai doesn't need to compete head to head with the AMG, but against the reportedly new performance trim from Infiniti and the F performance trim from Lexus - and at the same time, continuing undercutting them on price (say, a performance trim Genesis in the mid-high $50k range).
