Hyundai price, Lexus image, I have an idea!

Anything wrong or illegal with putting Lexus emblems on the Genesis? It does kind of look like Lexus'. The less people know about this car the more likely that will fly. I betcha people will fall for it.

Well. People probably would fall for it - from the back/rear.. Not the front.. I think it might be an interesting way to get people who normally would dislike it at first sight of the Hyundai logo - to like the car. I mean, it's hard to say "it's an ugly Hyundai" when you've already said to yourself, "hey, that's a nice Lexus". So in a way, it might be a cool idea. But, at the end of the day - you'll probably get more negative comments than positive...

Why would you WANT to put a Lexus badge on the Genesis? Come on now....if you want the so called "Lexus image" then buy a Lexus.

I'm proud that the Genesis is a Hyundai and would have nothing to be embarrassed about. It's a fantastic car and Hyundai is a fantastic automaker bar none.

Let everyone else keep their shallow perceptions because the reality is quite the opposite.

Amazing to what degree people are considering de-badging the car... If you really want to impress the neighbors how about putting the Mercedes star on the hood, the BMW logo on the trunk, and Lexus caps on the rims and door sills? Let's not forget the Hyundai Bentley!

I think that would be sad! If you have a Genesis, you should be proud of it.

It would be funny if they themselves (initially) fall for it, which I think is a possibility considering how Lexus-like it looks; then they show me the Lexus service price; and I'd be happy I got a Hyundai.

Not trying to hate here, just a thought. When Genesis starts to hit the streets yeah it'll be foolish. But right now, and perhaps if it doesn't do well and rare on the streets, it could fly.

Does anyone remember the Ford Granada commercials where the owner receives a parking ticket that says "Cadillac Seville?" Or the Granada is mistaken for a Mercedes.

Not that I am old enough....
