  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I bought a 2012 3.8 last week and I was reading over the Protection Plan that the original own had. I have 15 days to transfer it to my name for a $50 cost. It expires October 29 2018. Is anybody aware if I have any options to extend that warranty?

Probably the people you will be doing the transfer with. Is it a Hyundai plan or a third party?

You need to make sure you get information relating to Hyundai Canada. Hyundai Motor America warranties are sometimes different for the new car warranty, powertrain warranty, and extended warranties.

It's with Hyundai. Plan Code: Wrap Plan 5 Years/100,000kms

Nope, its with Hyundai Canada. All warranties are offered by the local country or region distributor, not Hyundai Korea. For example, in the USA, original owners get a 100K mile - 10 year warranty on the powertrain, something that is not provided to Hyundai buyers in any other country.

Also, Hyundai Motor America (for USA only) uses miles, not kilometers.

You need make sure you get correct information for Hyundai Canada warranties, whether provided with the car, or a purchased extended warranty.

If you do find out your options for continuing a warranty in Canada, please post your findings. I'm interested in extending my 5yr which comes up in another 2yrs since this car (so far) is looking like a keeper!

For only $50, it's a no-brainer to transfer it to your name immediately and get 6 months of coverage. It's especially critical if you have no other warranty coverage as the second owner of the car.
