  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hyundai Shares Top Satisfaction with Porsche

I enjoyed the first comment on the article:

"Fifteen years ago I could have never imagined Porsche and Hyundai mentioned in the same sentence."

:D

When you spend Porsche money on a car, you are obligated to be satisfied. It is written into the purchase agreement.

I would not give much stock in a JD Power rating. I used to work for a company that is consistently in the top 10 of best companies to work for. We were actively recruited to answer surveys many times to help boost the score. I never fell for that, but others did.

(Hyundai and Porsche? Please!)

I tried to not respond...but I absolutely feel the need to.

The article does not state that Porsche and Hyundai are comparable, they were leaders in their respective categories, Porsche for premium, and Hyundai for non premium. People should read the article, not just the headline, before they judge, and especially before they respond.

The article further states that the results came from owners, not employees or member of the general public. So there is no reason to believe the results are skewed to favor any company. My previous car was a Jaguar XF-R. It had a MSRP of $82K. And you can bet I held that car to a much higher standard than I do my R-Spec. This car was half the price of that car, there is really no comparison; the Jag was nicer. But I am HAPPIER with my Genny. I feel like this car is a better value than the Jag, not a better car. I got 80% of what I wanted for half the price, so I am happier with it. My opinion is totally subjective, as are all the satisfaction surveys.

I would also add that this particular survey asked NEW owners how they liked their purchases after only 90 days of ownership.

The survey does not intend to measure reliability or long term ownership issues. Nevertheless, it is a big feather in Hyundai's cap to be at the top of this list after their modest beginnings.
