If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hyundai's first foray into the world of rear-wheel-drive needs to be a success in order to justify the development, manufacturing and launching costs. Hyundai's vice president for product development, John Krafcik, told reports that the automaker expects to sell 50,000 Genesis models annually in the U.S. - 20,000 sedans and 30,000 coupes.

But the Genesis is only part of Hyundai's image makeover. The Korean manufacturer intends to launch its first hybrid model by 2010, equipped with a next generation lithium-ion battery pack. According to Krafcik, "Our first U.S. hybrid is going to be the Sonata," however, Hyundai has no plans to offer the new sedan with a plug-in option. That's a strategy that's served Toyota well, and Hyundai is clearly trying to follow in the Japanese juggernaut's footsteps.

Sales seem to stick at 1,000 a month for the sedan. I doubt the coupe will sell more than that.

i truthfully think these cars will be a hit, reason being because hyundai is not looking at there bottom line. but more on what consumers want which is a good quality car for a good price and really believe hyundai is capturing that i think.(gm,ford and most def chrlyser) need to take a look at

The coupe is at an entirely different price point and a market segment (tuners) which has less aversion to the Hyundai logo.

There has been a lot of buzz within the tuner community about the Genesis Coupe.

Moving 2,000 units monthly certainly seems feasible (unless the economy tanks even further).

Hyundai Motor America Reports March 2009 Sales

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Hyundai Motor America today announced sales of 40,721 vehicles in March, a five percent decline versus March 2008 but a 33 percent increase over February volume levels.

"We are satisfied with our overall performance in this difficult business climate," said Dave Zuchowski, Hyundai Motor America vice president of national sales. "The fact that we experienced only a nominal decline from an all-time March sales record in 2008 is acceptable to us. Even with continued economic stress and industry uncertainty, this performance is a clear indication that the Hyundai brand is sustaining its momentum and expanding its relevance."

"As we enter the important spring selling season, we fully expect to build on our one percent year-over-year sales increase for the first-quarter of 2009 with continued consumer interest in our Hyundai Assurance Program, growing recognition and acceptance of Genesis as North American Car of the Year, and terrific new models like the new Elantra Touring and Genesis Coupe which will be entering full launch mode."

All new Hyundai vehicles sold in the U.S. are covered by America's Best Warranty. In addition, the Hyundai Assurance Program is now offered on all new Hyundai's leased or purchased at a participating Hyundai dealership. Hyundai Assurance provides protection from certain income-changing life events, allowing consumers to return their vehicles in the first year of ownership without impacting their credit histories, while covering vehicle depreciation (negative equity) up to $7,500.

For a limited time, Hyundai is also offering Hyundai Assurance Plus, adding 90 days of payment relief to the existing protection plan. Hyundai Assurance Plus is part of Hyundai's Spring Sales Event, which runs until April 30, 2009. Hyundai Assurance and Hyundai Assurance Plus are complimentary for the first 12 months of ownership. The programs supplement all existing consumer incentives, and are available to any consumer, regardless of age, health, employment history or financed amount of the vehicle. Visit www.HyundaiUSA.com for details.

Hyundai Motor America, headquartered in Fountain Valley, Calif., is a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Co. of Korea. Hyundai vehicles are distributed throughout the United States by Hyundai Motor America and are sold and serviced by more than 780 dealerships nationwide.

For the Month of April 2009.

Hyundai sold 1,626 Genesis on last month.

The past Tiburon sold on average of 1,957 cars on month of July. The "middle" month was picked for no particular reason. The Tiburon is the cheaper car but the Genesis Coupe is more desirable car. Let's say that the cost and desirability even out the equilibrium and the Coupe can sold at the similar rate.

If sedan sells 1,200 a month in respect to the average Genesis number from (9/2008 ~ 2/2009) and the Coupe can have 2,250 a month, the 12 month total could be around 40,000+. Also, we don't know if Hyundai can't sell more of these cars. The 2,250 might be bit optimistic number. Acura sold 2,556 TSX last month. The Coupe is no worse than the TSX.

Here is the Trend of Tiburon from the Hyundainews.com
