  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hyundai unveils 2014 Equus Refresh at New York Auto Show

I was invited to attend the Equus reveal event this Saturday at the New York Auto Show; it would've been the event, breakfast, and free access to the rest of the NYAS for myself and a guest.... and I had to turn it down because I have to work this weekend.

:(

The Equus refresh looks great. Would've been awesome to see it in person.

I drove a 2012 last week and I was told that AWD would be in the 2014. No AWD is a deal killer in the north east USA, at least for me.

The 2014 Equus (due out this fall) is a refresh, not a new design. The 2015 Genesis (due mid 2014) is a new design and will have an AWD option. Probably next gen of Equus will also have it, maybe also in 2015 MY (or maybe 2016 MY).

Looks like the rear passenger reclining seat with ottoman did not make it into the 2014 refresh.

That's a shame. I guess not many people wanted that option. I'd have liked it, though.

Some journalists complained that the reclining chair was not comfortable for individuals over 6 feet tall (Brian Cooley of Cnet) and the toes of those individuals would get pinched under the passenger side seat while the chair was reclining. I sat in one in the showroom and found it very comfortable in a "partially" reclined position. just enough to lift the legs up and recline but not fully extended. The redesigned interior is tremendous looking imho.

I work for Hyundai Motor Finance and I just recently saw that the 2014 Equus should be in dealer showrooms later this month. The exact date? No clue? I have a '13 Equus Ultimate and hope to trade into the 2014 when it arrives. Cant decide on the White Satin Pearl or the new Night Shadow Brown.

Equus2013. The 2014 have the reclining seat with leg extensions? Like your Ultimate?

The reclining seat was good for 5' 4" Koreans, anyone over 5'10" could not use it. I tried, I am 6'2". TOTAL waste of time, with the front seat completely forward, I still had to put my feet on the back seat. Most uncomfortable.

Too bad. Maybe I ought to buy yours. I have kiddos that are 5'1"- 5'-3". The girls would love it. Let me know.

So. That seat is a goner then with the new one.

The 2014 will not have the reclining rear seat. I only have 8700 miles and I baby this car! Lol... I'm certainly going to miss the rear massager/reclining seat and the cool box! Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the response. When you are a few months out from a new one let me know. I am interested for sure.

Who drives you that you would miss it?

Ha! True! It is nice to get a quick massage on breaks at work and the few times I have friends in the car, they all love getting massages. I do enjoy using the cool box while Im at the gym... (days I take my lunch to work I can keep leftover refrigerate items in the cool box)

I plan on getting a new one as soon as the 2014's become available. I just don't know dealer allocation or the exact release date. I would love to have another white/saddle combo like I have now but the new Night Shadow Brown color is different and would be a nice change. Lets just hope the new color has a saddle interior option. :)

The Equus is way more car than I think I ever need--I sat inside one at this year's NAIAS. I think it would be fun to at least ride around the block a few times in one... :(

I do like the new refresh and I've always liked the car in general.
