  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2011 hyundai genesis. I want to know how the warranty works within the 100,000 kilometer warranty and what is covered from electronics to power train, squeak rattles and how many kilometers each are covered for. in regards to electronics (stereo, pw,pdl, nav etc) and how many kilometers they are covered for. In regards to powertrain what is covered and what intervals? Please give me an easy to understand way of figuring this out as im not clear on it. I thought everything was covered under the 100,000km warranty but apparently not.

What country are you in?

Have you checked the Canadian Hyundai web site? A lot of info is explained very clearly on there web site including what you are asking. You should post what you have found on the Hyundai website.

Click on the "details" for more information and exceptions to the warranty item in each category.

Warranties are offered by each marketing organization (not Hyundai Korea), and warranties for Hyundai Canada may be different than Hyundai Motor America (partly due to regulatory issues and partly due to competitive issues).

In the US, electronics like radio and Navigation are only covered for 3 years, 36000 miles. Most other items fall under the "bumper to bumper" 5 year 60000 mile coverage.
Power transmission items (engine, transmission, drive shafts) are covered for 10 years, 1000 miles....I have no idea what items are covered in Canada.
.

My right paasenger window is making strange noises and it is going down and is slow to go up. I wonder if that is covered.

It is covered under the 5-Year 100,000 KM Comprehensive Limited Warranty offered by Hyundai Canada. I don't understand what the confusion is.

Whether or not the dealer determines that there is really a problem that they can reproduce, is a different question.

In Canada, there is no extended drive train warranty (same as 5-Year 100,000 KM Comprehensive Limited Warranty). In the USA, the extended drivetrain warranty is only available to original owners, unless a used car is sold as "CPO" (Certified Pre-Owned) by an authorized Hyundai Dealer (the dealer pays HMA a fee for that).
