  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys,

Really fast question here. My past previous cars have been Hyundais (Sonata, Genesis Coupe) and with both those cars i always got a welcoming letter with my Road Side assistance card as well as a gift... But it seems for this time around with the Genesis Sedan, i get nothing?? Maybe i'm being nit picky.

Any of you guys received anything from Hyundai after buying the car?

Nope, nada.

I too have always received something: soft sided cooler, flowers, chocolates, etc.

I received a package that was FedEx'd to me after I got my Genesis. It was a thank you note, a business card for the roadside assistance, and a Genesis branded pen. I can't remember exactly how long after I got my car but I'd guess maybe a month or so.

Yeah, exactly. I mean i know it's not much, but i was just curious...

I'm really getting a kick out of this forum. In one thread people want the "Genesis Experience" that is being rolled out for owners of the 2017 model car to be retroactive. In this thread folks want a gift in the mail. Me? All I want is what I expected at time of purchase - my money's worth. So far, so good :D :D

I think the gifts represent (at very little cost to the dealer) a good will gesture, hoping you will remember them at the time of your next vehicle purchase.
So far my dealership experience has been uneventful...sort of like staying at a Motel 6, instead of a Fairmont Hotel.

Not just any gift, but a genuine ball point pen with the name "Genesis" printed on it. I am sure that set them back at least $1.99. When I got my pen years ago, I put it in the glove box, but have never used it.

Actually, due to relative low sales volume of the Genesis compared to other Hyundai's, I think they wait several months before sending out Genesis gifts in batches.

That's the same package I got, about 6-8 weeks after I leased the vehicle ...

My Sonata i got a $100 Gift card for Gas.

My Genesis Coupe i got a $50 Gas gift card and some Genesis gear (Shirt, Pen, Hot/Cold drink sleeve).

So i was just wondering...

What a coincidence. I just received this package in the mail today. This is nearly 3 full months after we purchased our Genesis. It was a pleasant surprise. It seems like an afterthought by Hyundai.

It's not ridiculous if all the other brands do it. Irregardless of what we want, if Genesis wants to keep up with the rest of the competition, they'll have to do something.

In the past from the German automakers I've gotten a BMW-branded cookie tin, Audi jacket/hat, pens, leather/metal key fob holders, etc.

My 1st gen I got a large box in the mail full of SWAG several months after purchase. On my 2nd gen, I got a small box with a card and pen about 2 months after purchase.

It's interesting to see what people get with past purchases or different brand purchases. I'm sure it costs the big companies next to nothing to send out marketing materials that has their name branded all over...

There's a whole section on Pinterest devoted to the various gifts received from car manufacturers. At least that's what I heard...

I got nada when I bought my Genesis but I did get a great deal so no complaints. We did get a $100 gift card when we bought my wife's 2016 Santa Fe Unlimited with the Ultimate package. That was a nice surprise.

The Genesis pen that I got a few months after purchase had a touch-screen stylus on one end. I didn't realize that was what it was until I started looking for a touch screen stylus to use on my smartphone.

Well today, just over 7 months since purchasing my Genesis, I received a pen. YAHOO!!!
