This past week I attended WY-Shot, that is an invitation only long range shooting competition for Specialty Pistols as well as the opportunity to shot prairie dogs on a private ranch. Of course I had to drive up as trying to carry all of the gear necessary by airline is impossible, so I took my 2013 Genesis 3.8 Base. From where I live in SoCal to Gillette, WY is 1200 miles making for a 18 hour drive with massive elevation changes. The speed limit is 80MPH through most of UT and WY so the cruise control was set at 85-87 for most of the trip. Even on the larger grades the car never lost speed and only shifted into 7th once or twice on the larger grades.
Over the course of almost 3000 miles over the past six days (100 of those being on dirt) my Genny averaged 31 MPG(!!!). Add to that the comfort that allowed a 16.5 hour return trip yesterday and it was a real winner. Plus it had all the room needed for 2 guys and all of the gear needed for the trip, competition and hunt. Not only was the car great in every aspect but I also had a very successful shoot hitting a 10"X6" gong at 960 yards with a pistol, my record range. Here is a video of the me making that shot:

In full disclosure that was actually the fifth shot I made on that gong, but that match organizer wanted a video for the sponsors.
