  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Its not in the suspension,it comes from the rear near the roor. It it very slight but the car is so quiet I noticed it. it sounds like a click or a ticking. It happens on small sharp bumps. I though it might be comming from where the headliner meets the back window on top and jammed shims in there but no luck. Then i thought it was comming from the trunk or speakers,i cant track it down. I can not take it to the dealer because they will think I'm nuts and I would be waisting my time. We might have to drive around for a while to hear it and it is so slight they would say they dont hear it. It might be due to a flexing of the car. It does seem to be high up . Has anyone heard anything like this(ping, click)if so what do you think it is. It may not be a correctable problem,if its between the roof and head liner. I have 2,000 miles now and no other problems. You will have to listen hard and may now be aware of it since i mentioned it. I have more confidence in this site then the dealer.

Somewhere in here....many months ago, there was a thread about noise in the same general area. If memory serves, it occured during loud music, not sharp bumps. Turns out it was the rear sunshade rattling in the down position. Might want to try reproducing your sound with the shade up or down. May help zero in on the problem.

In the last few weeks I've noticed a noise like this coming from my headliner/sunroof area. If I press on the sunroof shade the sound lessens/goes away.

I'm going to have the dealer check it out next month when I get the oil changed.

My (non tech package) blue tooth assembly rattles on occasion when on rough pavement. It's not very tightly assembled and I believe it's the speaker cover squeaking. It took me quite a while to pinpoint just what was causing that irritating noise.

I also get a rattle from the blue tooth assembly on rough pavement.

I think I have pin pointed the noise,i noticed that if i pushed up on the backseat dome light assembly the noise did not happen,no easy task as I had to hold it fot long periods of time as I went over light bumps. I am not sure how it comes out so i pryed the leading edge down and stuck a shim(cardboard) under it. The noise was reduced by 90%. It was like a creaking noise and I think it was caused by flexing of the roof. now I now why they put in such a good radio,if you leave it on you dont hear any noises.
