I absolutely LOVE it !!!
Anyone else out there absolutely love their 2nd Gen ??
Hands down the best car I have ever owned and such an improvement on the previous generation. This is not a car, more like a work of art.
+1 to all of the above. Unlike many of you who have driven and owned high end and euro-cars, this is the pinnacle for me, so I am super impressed. Before my 2013 Azera, the most I ever spent on a car was around $25K, so yeah; it's a nice ride.![]()
No high end cars for me, either. This one will do very nicely, thank you.![]()
Shhh, don't tell anyone this is a high end car, they will up the price to what the general public conceives as high end. Seriously, this is as high end as any Mercedes, BMW or Lexus and in some respects a whole lot more than they are. One area the Hyundai has got them beat 10 fold is overall reliability and almost non existant maintenance costs in comparison to the Germans. Oh wait, we don't get cappuccino served by scantly clad women while the car is in for maintenance/repair. Guess they got us beat there.![]()
Funny you should mention the second point I highlighted above, but I also highlighted the first point because of an experience I recently shared with my girlfriend who owns a 2007 Mini Cooper. It has been a very reliable car for her, with over 100,000 miles on the clock, and only just a couple of months ago finally needing a new battery. 7 years for a battery ain't bad, but guess what? She takes it to the local dealer here in Macon and they say "Sorry, we aren't licensed to work on Minis. You have to take it to Atlanta." So I went on a road trip to Atlanta with her to get a damned battery replaced and it wasn't cheap. On the bright side, they did have a decent selection of breakfast goodies, but not scantily clad women to serve me.Shhh, don't tell anyone this is a high end car, they will up the price to what the general public conceives as high end. Love my 2015 Empire State Gray/Black 3.8 AWD Ultimate too - except for the pesky sunroof rattles/creaks!

Remember a sizable portion of those high end german cars are leased for 36 months, some at heavily subsidized rates and residuals. In many cases between the free maintenance during the warranty period, the lease is over before the true cost of ownership shows up. It is possible to lease a BMW and not pay a dime while owning it aside from gas - not saying it's better than the Genesis, just saying for many of those nameplate buyers, the TCO is not in play.
Nothing is free, the cost is hidden into the price so basically you are paying and extra $1,500-2,000 for free maintenance. You can probably buy a free maintenance package for the Genesis if you desire.![]()
