  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I just hit a rail on the highway with my new 2022 :(

Does collision avoidance break for you?
When I first read your post it looks like your collision avoidance was broken. lol
It should be "brake" not "break" - just a friendly observance

Freudian slip!

Does collision avoidance break for you? I've heard the beeps once or twice but I've never had the car break for me.

In my Toyota, the car will break for me if it feels a collision will occur.
I usually only have that happen when I'm on CC, ironically. In some cases if the car in front of me brakes hard I will get the beeps and at that point since CC is already active the car is already slowing down, however I do notice that it's not braking hard enough and usually I intervene and brake harder. I have not had a case where the collision avoidance actually braked for me when I wasn't using CC.

I have and it hits HARD. Thrown forward in shoulder belt but released as danger disappeared. It was an odd intersection with car in front turning right at a Y and I taking the left fork and system reacted as if road went straight. It could not know. Newfound respect for braking power.
