  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I kinda hated the lack of interior ambient light. So I fixed(?) it

I wanted a more modern feel inside the car and really thought it lacked some ambient lighting. I didn't really like how the lights in the footwells would turn off when the car is in park.

Since doing this mod, I havent noticed any glare from the lights and the car feels a bit more cozy.

This took about $80 and 45 minutes:

Looks nice

Can you post links for what you used? Where did you tie in for power?

Yes please post links, I have been looking for something similar for a year myself, My last 3 cars had the ambient lighting and I really like it.

Hey guys,

I'll post links to what I used later today or tomorrow. Sorry, havent had much of a chance to pop in.

I'll update the original post with links

Looks clean. I'll likely want to do this as well.

Love it! Want it! Please share the details and also a picture of what it looks like during the day. I had 2 previous cars with ambient lights and I really miss it...

My ambient LED strip is out for the delivery today. I will try to install it today and share some pics.

I got these for $32 and you can dim them or change color. It looks so good and cozy at night. I might have gained 10 extra hp lol ;)

I will have installation pics
I was looking at the place where you ran that tube - doesnt look like much room to squeeze the base of it in there.... How did you attach it?

I have removed the kit. I couldn't get used to looking at the rubber tube during the day. My wife hated it too. I guess I will buy Genesis G90 and have it as a factory option :)

I like the look and dont mind the tube. Did anyone post how to install this? cant seem to find it in the forum.

It is simple. Buy the kit you like, you will need to get a micro circuit fuse tap:
Amazon
If your tube kit comes with cigarette lighter plug, cut the cord and connect the hot wire with circuit fuse tap and the other wire needs to be grounded. I used 10A red fuse but cannot remember which fuse module I connected it with. Then you will just have to play with cutting the tube and making sure you don't bend it in 90 degree because that spot will lit up very bright and your line will not be lit up equally. That was another reason why I got rid of it because you can't get it to look equally bright due to the angles you need to bend it. I loved it for the first couple of days because it made my interior looks really cool but then I started to notice these little imperfections and my OCDs could not take that anymore lol. Let us know if you have any questions.

I liked it because it comes with the remote and you can change the colors and brightness.

Thanks for getting back to me. I just got my car a week ago so I still have no idea where the fuse box or where to connect it. Is there any similar mod in the forum with pictures of how to disassemble anything if req and the connection to the fuse box? Also grounding

Did you just squeeze them in the console or had to disassemble anything for a tighter fit?
