  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I made the right choice.

By knob I mean the rotary controller. In 5.0 base, you just get touchscreen, not the rotary controller. In ultimate, you get:

Rotary controller
9.2" HD screen
Continuous Damping Suspension
Powered trunk with a button on the trunk that closes it
HUD

I wish the 5.0 base was offered in Canada - that might have tempted me a bit more. But we get it with AWD which matters more to me so I can't complain.

You also don't get Auto Hold in the base model.

No no...you do. The only differences between base and ultimate in 5.0 are as specified in my earlier response

Well, you also do get extra 3 speakers for a total of 17 in the ultimate...I forgot to mention that but it is part of the upgraded infotainment system which has the rotary controller, 3 extra speakers and 32gb or 64gb harddisk to store music

Not in the 2016 model unless the button has been moved to another location. I had a 2016 base model loaner car and it did not have the Auto Hold feature.

Perhaps, but if you had a 2016 loaner, it was not a V8. The specs that referred to here were for V8 base vs. V8 Ultimate.

Correct, if you have 2016, it is V6
