  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Thanks for the warm welcome msg.

Please I need to know what is the average Fuel consumption of genesis sedan 2011 with 3.8L V6 Engine in 100L/km.

Thanks

Maybe somewhere between 10-11 100L/km, depending on the driving style..

That translates to about 15 MPG. Yes, it is low. You need to tell us about how you drive before we can say if it is good or bad. I have the same engine, but newer car so I'd not be far off.

When I go on a nearby errand of a mile or two, the fuel use is closer to 19L but a few miles on the highway will get it to less than 9L. Winter is worse until you are warmed up.

Short distance, lots of traffic makes for dismal fuel consumption. Take a highway ride and see what you get.

Appreciate your reply. On highway i get around 12-14L/100km... in traffic it reaches about 17.9L/100km. I fill the thank once in 5 days and i travel about 70km daily.

Is ECO Mode an option on your model? On my G80 w/ 3.8L V6, it definitely helps conserve gas on long flat highway trips, and 28-30 MPG is pretty typical (which translates to roughly 8L/100km, per Google).

However, ECO is not as useful in city driving, as I find myself having to stomp on the accelerator harder when I've mistakenly left the G80 in ECO mode to compensate for the aggressiveness of city drivers (though this also occurs on the highways during rush hour, when everyone loses their damn minds and drives like Mad Max....sigh....). In city driving, especially in heavy stop-n-go traffic, the car drops to 12-15 MPG = 16-20L/100km.

On the other hand, ECO mode does provide for a silky smooth ride due to the lower acceleration rate, as long as you're ok with the decreased performance.

Wow, that is what I roughly get in the 5.0!

so is that good or bad?

That is somewhat bad, the 5.0 is somewhat thirsty compared to the 3.8.
For example on average the 5.0 will do around 450km per tank, while the 3.8 does somewhere around 550km per tank.

Then you should be good as that equates to around 19mpg, which is the average city driving.
