I want a used equus

I have really loved Hyundai through the years. I have owned 3 already. I have been looking at the Genesis, but the more I look at the Equus, If I can come across one in my range (sub 20k) I would go for it.
Are there any year models to shy away from with particular issues
What would be considered too many miles on a used one
I understand the massaging seats went away after 2013 and they were only avail on the Ultimate..Is that correct
Anything else I should be aware of...tips/tricks/quirks etc

I have owned one for 5 1/2 years and it has been a great car. I have a 2011 Signature bought after its lease was up. I had what would have been the Hyundai CPO program on it and never used the warranty in the 5 years the car was under it
I would say buy the newest that you can afford...I would probably shy away from a 2012 as I know some had engine and trans issues with that first year of that newer V8 and 8 speed trans
I would get a 2014-2016 ultimate if that is in your price range. Better interior trim, better looking wheels( in my opinion) and also the Heads up display
Air suspension is going to be the largest issue with the Equus...but it usually seems to creep on cars with 100K miles or more
However the air suspension is what makes the Equus ride so smoothly. In fact, in my opinion, it rides better than the G90 on a smooth road

I'm driving a 2015 ultimate and it has been divine...I'm coming from a Audi A8L...drive is better. Technology is starting to catch up...bluelink services are ending after 2021 unless some sort of update is offered. Heads up display is as good or better then wife 2019 Acura RLX. Really solid car.

Have the air suspension checked before you buy. It is a major repair bill and that can often be the reason it got traded. As they start to fail the car may look and drive fine but still need fixing. You can save money by buying the parts and finding a shop to install them. You can search this site for more info on that. I agree on the 2012 engine/transmission, that first year was not as smooth. Make sure the electronics/nav screen is working well. That's also a big ticket item to replace. I bought a 2011 with 89,000 miles that had been well maintained for $10,500 in May of 2020 after my 2009 Genesis sedan was totaled by hitting a deer. Both are great cars.

I have a 2011 Signature that I have owned for almost 6 years
It has 75,000 miles on it now

It was a lease return when I bought it and the Hyundai dealer had replaced the front struts after they bought it auction before they resold it
They gave me that paperwork on the repair as part of the purchase
What I dont have a clue about is how much is the repair cost?
I have heard stories from $1000 to $5000

The paperwork I have on my car , from the replacement, just has " no charge" in the column where $$ would be on an invoice

I assume you replaced the entire front strut assembly?

Actually about $1500. And yes the entire front strut assembly. I just bought those a couple of weeks ago. You can find a few sources. Some are rebuilt and some new. I got mine from parts geek.
