  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

When I first bought my G70 almost 2 years ago I turned off the ISG. On the model I have it stays off. Today I went to turn it back on and couldn't figure it out. I swear I've gone through every menu. How in the heck do I turn it back on? Have I lost my mind? Did my car not have it? Am I remembering things incorrectly? You would think that if I figured out how to turn it off I could figure out how to turn it back on again. I don't have a button next to the drive mode nor is there one to the left of the steering wheel. I could have sworn it was in the settings somewhere.

2.0T or 3.3T?

3.3T doesn't have ISG

Did the 2020 have it? I test drove two cars that day and I clearly remember being disappointed when the car turned off at a stop. Damn I am getting old and losing my mind. It's never been good to begin with.

Why would you want it on anyways? It's terrible

According to this video; the ISG system always resets itself to the on mode when you first start the car until you manually shut it off. If it stays off even at start-up something maybe wrong with the system.

I normally don't but I was sitting in stop and go traffic yesterday. More stop then go and thought this is the one time I wish I had it. Normally I hate it. I didn't buy the G70 for it's fantastic gas mileage and I only drive 6k miles per year on average.

Both my 2018 Buick Regal Tour-X (really an Opal, made in Germany) and my 2021 G80 3.5T have it.
Can’t switch it off on the Buick. Although it has a rough restart, I’m used to it. Does not bother me.
My G80 has a very smooth restart. Does not bother me, so I just leave it on.

It's the pause. Maybe just half a second? 1 second? But it drives me crazy. I also wonder about the starter. Is it a lot more likely to break sooner? Just not a fan.

I've read the starters are heavier duty than the normal due to the increased use.
