  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Good evening...I'm getting ready to replace a failing idler pulley on my 2013 Equus, but I am having trouble locating the correct torque setting. I would appreciate any help or direction so as not to overtighten it or fail to tighten it enough. Thank you.

For working on these cars, this website is one of the most invaluable resources we have!

Sometimes you have to do a little hunting to find what you need, but ive been able to find 99.9% of the procedures and torque specs for the Equus there.

Edit: Realized you said "Idler" and not "tensioner" so I went and got the correct one.

Old thread but awesome link for the shop manual there! Used it to replace the tensioner, idler, and belt on my folk's '12 Genesis R-Spec with 252k miles.

What was the reason for changing your idler? Reason asking I just changed out my serpentine belt in my ‘13 Equus and it still squeals when I start it, wondering if it could be my belt tensioner.
