Illuminated door sills 2019 G70

Hello,
I bought the illuminated door sills for my 2019 Genesis G70. I installed the battery on the back, but the battery cover will not stay attached. There is foil on the back of the battery cover and there is foil in the bottom of the battery case. I almost pulled it out to make the battery fit, has anyone else had this problem or am I doing something wrong ?

How do you install the sills?

Battery in the sills and the magnet sticks to the underneath of the door to act as a switch. It's literally a five minute install.

So it’s not hardwired in but rather runs on a battery? I thought they would tap into the factory wiring somewhere

Correct. It is not hard wired. There is a large watch battery in the door sill. They do not stay lit very long.

I had the same issue. I just put the cap back on and used gorilla tape to keep it on. It’s been working fine for months for me
