  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Pics are in my profile garage thingy.... only 2 complaints I have thus far is the USB stick skipping at the end of songs (will try a different stick... its a Sandisk 8GB Cruzer Micro), and my Motorola Q9c will not end calls properly (both have threads going on in electrical). I come from 2 Subaru 2.5l turbo AWD motors, and a Civic Si from back in the day, so a low-revving V8 RWD torquey sedan is quite a change for me. It is really weird not seeing the tach go above 2500rpms unless you punch it. I'm used to winding out to 6k+ rpms on 4-cyl motors. Kinda nice and relaxing actually. I LOVE the transmission in this car. It puts my wife's 2007 Acura MDX to shame.

Mods are full tint (5 rears/15 fronts), no "Genesis 4.6 badges", and a rear wing badge. That's it for now!

Cheers!
Dave

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Congrats and welcome to club! I hope you are as happy w/ your Genesis as I have been w/ mine.

I love the pearl/metallic white! If I had it to do over again I would have waited a few months for a White V6 Tech. That color is simply beautiful....probably one of the nicest whites I've ever seen on a sub-$50k car.

I've already got Tipper's "Surrounded" 5.1 DVD as well as New Emmissions of Light and Sound (surf DVD with soundtrack by Sasha). Both HIGHLY recommended as an intro into intelligent electronic music for the uninitiated! (With great visuals as well!)

Cheers!

Looks like we may have similar taste in cars. When I added a 4.6 to the stable in mid-January, it displaced my '06 MDX in the garage because it isn't wide enough to accommodate both vehicles plus my Gold Wing, which has seniority rights for a roof over its head. Because there are so few Genesis' on the road (I still haven't seen another one here in the Bay Area), lots of people may assume you are scootin' around in a Bentley, which are probably more common down there in the Southland.

But don't let the Mrs. entertain the thought of dumping the MDX. If you plan on going someplace that requires you to drive over washboard or pot-holed roads, the Acura will keep any dental work in place far better than the Genesis.

Congrats on your new ride.

Congrats on the new ride. A local dealer finally got a white Genesis in stock. What a fabulous color. The metalic particles in the paint really stand out in the white in comparison to the other colors and make the car look great. Keep that baby all shined up!!

Congrats Wayoutwest, it looks quite nice. Enjoy and welcomed.

My V8-Tec turns 1-week old

Last week I had to turn in the leased Company Car as I've just retired. Giving back the BMW 750i was a sad experience for me for the first time ever. How I loved that car with the Tech Package. It's been a week and I haven't looked back. The new driving experience isn't a compromise. Except for the tighter feel of the BMW and road hugging ability, there's really no other important difference. The interior quality of the Genesis is hard to believe, the sound system, amazing and comfort and feel even better. You couldn't drive a more quiet car !!! There are obvious differences between an $82,000 car and one for $37,000 but not enough to justify almost $700 per month more. I added the aftermarket emblems to the front and back along with full window tinting and have had some serious lookers....I still don't have plates yet and both frames simply show the the dealer's name and a big Hyundai otherwise no one would know what kind of car it is. I'm over 20mpg driving half "country roads" and half highway. Haven't experienced any suspension "problems" though this isn't a BMW in that department. More as I have more to relate.

I'm a little late but congratulations on your new Hyundai Genesis!
