  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm out!

I'm not sure how much stock I'd put in that study. The article itself says that the study used data from 2012 to 2018, with most of the data from the early end of that timeframe. It's pretty clear that in 2012 it was a lot more likely for someone to switch back to ICE. Since then however, pretty much everything about EVs, from the overall quality, the choices available, as well as the charging opportunities, have gotten a lot better. Even using relatively old data from back then, only 1 in 5 switched back to ICE. I imagine that rate is even lower nowadays.

In any case, I didn't mean to start an ICE vs EV war. I like ICE cars as much as anybody, but that doesn't mean I can't be curious about and like EVs too. I pretty much love cars, I don't really care too much how they go. If you can get a hamster-powered car to go 0-60 in 4.5 seconds like the G70 and look good doing it, I'd like that car too :)
Congrats on the Taycan! They're amazing and beautiful. Enjoy. Electric is the future, despite all the naysayers. Most of us resist change, some more than others, but it's inevitable.
Let us know how the new wheels are.😊

OP, congrats on your Taycan! My best friend rode in one of those at a track event and he really was at a loss for words for describing the performance afterwards. Like it or not, every manufacturer is switching to EVs.

Personally I think I want one more V8 before I go electric after that. While I was hoping it would be a V8 G90, that's probably not going to be an option by the time I'm done with my G70. By then my only options might very well be one of the Germans; we'll see where things are in 5 years.

If I were to get a vote, I'd say get a Corvette :) A buddy at work got one a few months ago and it is a lot of FUN. Not the most practical car, but it definitely puts a smile on your face. It's super quick - I'm talking brutal, roller coaster acceleration (and my buddy never misses an opportunity to remind me that it's quicker than the Taycan). He also says it's not bad as a daily driver, and I believe him. The ride wasn't at all uncomfortable and the interior was actually pretty nice. Oh, and another potential side benefit, one time he took me for a ride in it, some twenty-something gal pulled her shirt up and flashed us, which according to my buddy is apparently an actual thing that some women will do when they see a Corvette :)

One of the items on my Bucket List is to take factory delivery of a Corvette and drive it home.

My G70 replaced a 2008 Corvette C6 coupe as my daily driver. I had the C6 for 9 years (bought it used) and it was a great DD even through the Michigan winters (w/Blizzak snow tires on factory rims). The main reason I switched to the G70 was for the new safety tech which wasn't available on the C7 and still isn't even on the C8. I went with the 3.3T in order to retain a reasonable amount of the performance I had gotten used to over the previous 9 years! And I still have a C6 convertible when I really need a fix...

Enjoy,

Is your G70 RWD or AWD?

Maybe a new Mustang Mach 1?? Or a 'vette. Or an E90 M3 😊 they're not as fast as today's hot cars, but are more affordable and have a glorious NA V8 with an 8400 redline and you can get a stick (just set some money aside for rod bearings, haha).
