  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

traded her in today. 3800 miles on it. what a shame. Wife just wouldn't stop hounding me about wanting to get back into an SUV (i have a new crew F150).

You guys are great, great forum, i learned alot here, i want to say thanks to all you guys for a fun (albeit) short Genesis ownership experience. 7 or 8 years from now i would've held my ground, but do to the constant complaining from the wife about not being able to "shuttle" the kids and their friend's around i gave in.

Got $33,500 for it, not bad considering i paid $37,xxx for it in April. I cashed out the equity and walked about with a check for $7k.

I researched (for a couple weeks now, i've hinted in other threads this was imminent) a bunch of different options and decided on leasing a new AWD Durango Crew. The money factor from US bank was very good (.00065, last month it was .000062). Residual was only 43% but that's not a biggie for me, mostly it cancelled each other out, making the truck lease out well. The Acadia denali leased out better, but wife hated the interior (i kind of do as well, two of our friend's have '11 AWD Denalis and the look nice from the outside but very boring inside and get horrific mpg.)

$1,200 out of pocket, 448/mo, truck MSRP'd at $38k, was splitting hold back then got all the holdback after kicking and screaming like an angry child (just kidding, i'v purchased so many cars form this guy they never cease to amaze me.. owner is unbelievable.) took all holdback except for $107 to get the payment to under $450 mo with the $1,200 out. plus they threw in the chrome mirror caps (free oil changes, loaners, etc are standard here) like $100 mopar accessory.

I would've went with a loaded Citadel with the Hemi, etc, etc, but i am trying to open up a side business and am "attempting" to be more fiscally responsible lol, so i got some options and left others out (mainly whatever wife said she needed she got). I know the 8spd is coming out for the '13 model year but it's a lease i couldn't care any less about it, heck i won't even be driving it except a couple times a month.

Hopefully when this one goes back in three years the genesis SUV will be out and that's one i would love to own, very difficult giving that car up..but, in hindsight i should'v left her in the Yukon. Never mess with the wife's ride!! lol

here's a couple pics before i bid adieu..

i apologize in advance for the lack of picture clarity, was my old sony 5mp camera, left the 12mp at work.

here's the window sticker for anyone interested and seeing what you can get in these at a decent price.. tried to cut back on spending ridiculous amounts of money on options my wife hates (eg leather you can get alot of other things without it?? configs are endless). for anyone looking to lease one you can only get a Crew or the models lower than this (express/heat) the higher models have horrible residual and the money factor on some are 5x higher.

PS if anyone is interested in a barely used Dr color chip kit (think it was $48 or so??) for black let me know i'll send it for $20 shipped. i also have the ipod cable, extra cargo net, i sold the airbag to one of the salesman, he has a '10 and loved the look, had no idea you could buy a KDM one lol typical.

Short and sweet Tony! Barely 4 months...
Thanks for all the posts and good luck with your new SUV.

Wow...
Anyway best of luck. Off in the distance I faintly hear the song "p$%#y control".

I hope that you have better luck with this Dodge than I had with the one and only Dodge that I ever had. 2001 Grand Caravan Sport was nothing but problems. I paid more than $2,000 left on the lease just to get rid of it. No way I would ever spend a cent on a Chysler product again. But I understand the need to please the wife (been married for 18 years) and I hope that you got the best Dodge ever built.

That's one big FIAT!

Well... that blows, Tony! I'm gonna miss your pics and comments on the boards. Regardless... thanks for all the great discussions and advice. Hopefully you'll visit from time to time. Good luck!

The new Durango is really nice.. Good luck with it! I'm glad to hear you enjoy your stay here while it lasted...

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
i'll pop in now and then. believe me, my heart is still in that car. it was the nicest "car" i've ever owned and one day maybe i'll be able to hop back into the car arena.. i got the windows tinted on the "D3" (hip code for the new one lmao!) today. what a difference. now i can't wait for the chrome mirrors and door handles.
