  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Funny story is Hyundai has put 3 new set of car tire on my Genesis 4.6 in the last five months. i just got the car back from the DPSM yesterday and my car is still pulling but now it's going to the right of the roadway. when i say pull it is a very tight pull.and if you don't correct it while it is doing it the car will run off the road. at first the pull was only doing it at highway speed. but now its doing it at 45 mph. Hyundai took the oem tires and replace them with the michelin pilot.they did a 4 wheel alignment. but they found while doing it all items were within spec. other than RF camber adjusted.

i have filled with the BBB Autoline. and they have told me that my genesis meet the requirement for a new car replacement.my question is has anyone went thru arbitration with a car company?

Hyundai has said they would give me a free extended warranty. replace the car tires. and also doing about 6 months car payment back.

all of the above is junk when i drive a unsafe car.

Lemon Laws very state by state.

For Alabama, you have till 12k miles or 1 year from the original sale date (whichever comes 1st) if you're the original purchaser.

With the BBB Autoline im still within the time frame for a new car replacement. because of Hyundai warranty. im still good until 24,000 miles. and i am the original owner. and also i have a the same problem with the pulling since 8,000 miles.

Generally, Lemon Laws can be invoked after a certain number of days that the car is not available to you because it is being serviced. If you have a problem, don't accept possession of the car until they fix it, otherwise the clock may not be ticking if the car was returned to you. This should not be considered to be definitive legal advice, since the facts of each case are different and each state has their own Lemon Laws.

If it pulled one way with one set of tires and the other with a different set of tires, then I think the problem is tires and not car. Have you taken your car to a large Michelin tire dealer and had the tires eliminated as the cause of the problem? A car dealer does not have tire experts.

I'm doing this today.. also i'm paying out of my pocket to have a 3rd person to look at the problem and to write what they are thinking what the problem could be. i was told by the DPSM that it would be ok aslong as they did not go in and start playing around with the other parts.

also the first and 2nd set of tires were wearing down..

Keep all receipts and records. Get a copy from the dealer of all work orders.

Then find a good lemon lawyer in your state and give them a call. They will look at your records and let you know if you have a case or not. A good one will not charge you anything. They will get paid once the case is settled. No up front out of pocket money.

I went thru this recently with a '08 Pontiac G8, albiet in a different state. Bottom line, I returned the car, GM paid off what was left of the loan, GM paid the lawyers fees, GM paid me what I had paid on the car including interest. GM got a deduction for milage. I paid the lawyer his 7% of the cash I actually got from GM.

In the end, it cost me about $250 a month to drive the car for 3 years. That's also why I now drive a Genney. I'll never buy another GM vechicle after the way they had treated me, both the dealer and GM corrporiate.

I went through it back in 1998 with Hyundai when they almost went bankrupt from selling cheap and crappy cars. Was in Alabama with horrible dealer. Engine trouble. They worked on it three times and still not fixed. I did take possession of the car each time.

Filed arbitration case as stated in the book supplied by Hyundai. Back in the early internet days and getting no where with dealership or regional person, I was able to get the phone number to the then CEO's office in CA. Called and got his assistant. I had documented everything very detailed in a letter and had all receipts from prior work. She had me fax everything to her. That was on a Friday (I believe.) We were going to arbitration on the following Tuesday. I received a call from the BBB the next business day, and told I was getting a settlement of full purchase price! Overjoyed!

Read what is in the Hyundai book regarding each state's rules and look up information on Attorney General's site. That is what will best tell you what to do and what you need to have.

The car needs professional service. The mechanics at the dealership are not being paid to spend the time nessesary to find the problem. If the car had this problem from new than it could be a missing bushing or a bent part. It is not rocket science. If you are mad enough, tape lemons on the car and and the name hyundai genesis and pull up out front of the showroom and ask management for a refund. If they refuse, drive around the dealership from 10 to 9 sat and sun. DO NOT put the name of the dealership on the car or talk to anyone. You will be costing the dealership a lot of business by exercising your first amendment right to free speech. They will work out something for you if you convince the dealership that you will do this every weekend until they do the right thing. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

final story about my genesis 4.6. after an entire summer of dealing with tire replacement and car pulling really bad to one side of the road. on thursday i placed a phone call to the ceo of Hyundai. i spoke with his secretary and she took a full report on what was going on with my genesis. only two weeks later after having my car back the pulling has only gotten worst and the car has been in for service for the same problem 8 times. and two full set of car tires being replace and the DPSM said he has never seen or had a genesis with these two problems .. i received a phone call today around 3:30 from the same lady saying that Hyundai will be buying back my Genesis..

at this point i was kind of happy/sad. i really love this car. but with all of the problem i have had i would be really crazy to keep this car. i did ask for a replacement car. does anyone know how this will work ? i am so happy i did not have to take them to court..

Duck2010 We have a 2011 Genesis sedan 4.6 we are currently onour 3rd set of tires with only 35000 miles on the car. We had to buy our 2nd set but forced dealer to buy 3rd set. In addition to ongoing alignement problems causing tires to wear, we are and have had problems with a squeak and rattle coming form the rear of the car. It is VERY annoying and for a $40K plus car unacceptable. The car has been in for service for both issues 9 times now. One time they had the car for 2 weeks. We have contacted the Genesis Customer service center and have requested a buy back. We have not heard a decision yet. We love allthe good parts of the car. But cannot keep buying tires and will not listen to a LUXURY car squeak and rattle.

I ended up replacing Conti DWS with General Gmax and car now tracks straight.
