  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey everyone! So like most of you [I'd hope heh], I saw the Equus and fell in love with everything it offered for the price it's at.

I'm finally in the market for a new car [I've only ever personally owned Toyota Camrys <_<], and I was initially aiming for a 2014 Equus...but I'd really want mine to be CPO, and those that ARE CPO tend to be raised above my price range.

That leaves me with two options, go with a 2013 CPO that is right at the sweet spot, or go with a non-CPO 2014 Signature with around 40k~ miles [as that seems to bring the car into my price range].

Is there any significant reason beyond the interior styling changes & rims [both of which I love x_x but can live without ultimately if it came down to it] to go with a 2014 over a 2013? I know that the air suspension was tuned a bit, but I'm going for the Equus because I want a nice, smooth, quiet, long-range cruiser, so I'm not too picky or interested in "more sports-like handling" or anything.

Any of your views would be highly appreciated :D

Also as a side-question I guess I can ask here too, does the 2013 Equus Signature have rear sunshades for the side windows? Or just the main read-window?

Thanks in advance! This has already been such a helpful forum so far

Which ever one you get, I would make sure it has an extended warranty. The CPO extends the warranty on powertrain to 10 years or 100K miles, which ever comes first. But you can get an extended warranty to cover that on a non-CPO car.

There are a lot of electronics in the car that can go bad, and be extremely costly to replace, so even if you have an extended powertrain warranty with CPO, I would get something to cover everything else. Air suspensions in particular tend to develop problems, and are very expensive to repair.

The whole reason I wanted to go the CPO route was because of the included powertrain warranty, but I hadn't really thought of purchasing a warranty myself beyond that.

I'll have to look into that, as it may open up new potential buys if I went with a non-CPO with an extended warranty instead.
