  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The current Primacy set is on their last leg and quite noisy IMO. Discount Tire said they'll have 10-15% off this Black Fri so I'm ready to pick up some new rubbers.

Here's what I have that are reasonable in price/tread wear. All have decent reviews but would like some input if any of these have been too noisy/harsh.

Pirelli P zero+ ($170) 50k
Pirelli Strada ($167) 70k
Pirelli P7 ($201) 70k
Yokohama YK740 GTX ($180) 60k
Continental Control Contact ($155) 50k
Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 ($164) 50K

I've had the Continental DWS on a number of vehicles, no complaints.

I've had the Pirelli P Zero + on my 2015 5.0 for 7 months, just changed to winters; Pirellis were smooth tires..no noise & good ride

From your list, here are the two I'd consider:
Pirelli P zero All Season Plus
Continental Extreme Contact DWS06

I firmly believe that you should consider the Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus. I've had them for sometime now and have proven excellent.

SIDE NOTE: Look at DiscountTireDirect.com to see how much the extended warranty REALLY COSTS. I printed out that page and the local Discount matched it by further reducing the price of the tire. (Local store said they couldn't make changes to the Certificate price so they lowered the tire price.) ALSO if you have atleast 5/32" on your tires, Discount will *buy* them for $20/tire. Don't forget to get them to take the disposal fee off if you can sell them.

I just bought YOKOHAMA ADVAN SPORT A/S. So far so good.

Had the Conti DWS in the past and loved them. I didn't get the best mileage out of them but the cars I had them on I also drove the hell out of them and they stayed sticky in all conditions except snow until the end. I just put a set of Pilot Sport A/S 3 Plus on my car a few weeks back and I am loving the traction and cornering but I am having a bad vibration over 30 mph. Trying to figure out now if I have a bad tire or maybe just a wheel out of balance.

Have you considered the Vogue Signature V? They have a 60k mile warranty and when looking at reviews through searching the web shows them to be very good tires, low noise and high longevity.

Just curious if anyone has personal experience with them as I'm looking to put them on when I have to replace my tires in a few years. I've also looked at the Nokkian Entyre 2.0 but they're too new for me to lean that way just yet.

@ ockguy How many miles or kilometers do you
have on your Primacies? I have 37000 Kilometers ( 23000 miles) on mine & been told
they are close to needing replacement which I find to be
a pretty short life having rotated every 10000 Kilometers
& watched tire pressure & had an alignment done.
Michelin used to be a good wearing tire but
I too will look @ other options.

Had the DWS06 on my Q5 and loved them, plan on putting then on the Genesis next month when I swap out the Primacy's.

I'm at 35k now and down to about 4/32 on all but one. I bought it with 23k and one had a bulge so the dealer put on a new one.

I have not even heard of those TBH

@ okcguy-35k ? Miles or Kilometers?

They came up as an option for my ‘11 4.6 from Discount Tire. They apparently only make tires intended for the luxury sedan market.

This is what the tread pattern looks like

The Vogue Radials with the Gold Stripe were considered the tire back in the day and a status symbol of sorts I guess you could say. My Dad swore by 'em and put them on every Cadillac and Lincoln he ever owned, which were many when I was a kid, lol. You'll often see their Red Stripe on many classic show cars, as well.

Can't speak to their current quality, but I do recall they were known to be quiet and they're a good-looking tire. But based on their pricing, they're pretty proud of them too. With the tires listed above costing less, these would be down on the list for my money.

Theyr

They still have the one with the gold stripe. The ones I posted are $144 a tire for 235/50R18 but the gold stripe are $340 a tire. I can’t see why though.

I recall these Whitewall/Gold Stripe Vogue tires were bought mostly for the look
but were very squishy or not a handling tire & were mostly put on
cars that handling wasn't an issue like Cadillacs as Whitey mentioned above.

Well, looks like we're going with the Pirelli Zero +. I missed a $70 rebate on the continental dsw's by one day. Fortunately Sam's has the Zero + for 133 a pop and DT beat their price. Ended up paying 569 otd plus getting a 10% rebate from DT on top of that as their BF special. Not a bad deal IMO.

Pirelli's run very nicely. A bit on the softer side, but you get a nicer ride and it handles very well in all weather.
