  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone else waiting for an inbound Genesis and seeking the status of your car? I have a deposit down with a VIN number and have been trying to get more info on timing. I have a lease coming due and need to decide whether or not to extend another month. Dealer cannot access anything more than it being in transit. Regional office was not more helpful either. Anyone else gotten better information?

Welcome to the boards pjkad. :welcome:

I wish I could help on this one but it is a waiting game that I belive no one can help with at this point. No one is able to find a VIN tracking site as well.

I spoke with 2 dealerships today and both told me they expected to get atleast one V8 in next week.

One dealer was in Los Angeles the other in San Diego.

Welcome aboard! Thank you for signing up and congratulations on your new Hyundai Genesis! Sorry we don't have more insight for you in regards to your vehicle's status...

If you have a VIN number I think your wait will be less than 2 weeks.

When I placed my order for a V6 Tech on July 9th I was promised delivery in 4-6 weeks. After about 2 weeks the dealer called me to tell me they had a VIN#. They received the car about 10 days after they got the VIN#. It is possible that my vehicle was already in the pipe but unassigned and I got lucky, but having the VIN is an indicator the car is on the way.

Logistically if the dealer has been assigned a VIN# then the car exists somewhere in the distribution pipeline. It is probably 10-14 days for ocean transit time to a US port. Then it is additional transport time from customs to dealer by rail or truck.

From what I remember, Honda does it the same way. Patience - your car will soon be home :)

Thank you all for keeping me calm!

Hello guy's

Im a Canadian that placed an order for a Genesis 3 weeks ago

My dealer cant tell me when I will receive my 3.8 tech

Have any of you had to wait for long

Do you guy's know what would be a standard lead time for a unit

Let me know

Thanks

I have been waiting 3 weeks so far, having received a specific VIN number for a car. The dealer system is not able to display more detail on ETA. The regional office system may be able to but they have not divulged further info.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
There appears to be little visibility about delivery. I was in a similar position with a deposit down, the dealer said the Genesis would arrive at the end of September.

I called on Tuesday this week in the hope something had changed, but the answer was the same :(

Then I got a call 2 hours later saying my car had arrived ! :D

This car is amazing, particularly like the voice activation, very easy to use.

Can you clarify something? What was the date you received the VIN for your car?

Per a separate post by Matt, he bought a V6. No reports of a purchased V8 yet, but the wait should be over soon!

Beware - A Deposit Means Nothing

I can't believe it....after 4 weeks of waiting for a car, and with a valid signed deal and deposit taken, I get a call today. My car is in and when do I want to come pick it up. I say I'll get back to them (since I had been talking to another dealer who offerred a better deal I needed to check on that car's ETA). When I call back I am told, sorry but the car has been sold to someone else.!
I have started the process of complaining up the line at Hyundai. But the reality is, a deposit on a car is no contract - for either party. I am disgusted by the energy necessary to simply buy a Genesis from Hyundai.

For all those in the NY area: this dealer is Paramus Hyundai on Route 4. The sales manager won't even take my call. Living proof of how highway automobile dealerships got their reputation. I have owned all the luxury brand cars and have never experienced anything like this.
Sorry for the rant, put I'm pissed.

I am in the west coast of Canada. I placed an order for a blk/blk V8 with Tech package on Sep 15. The dealer told me the car should arrive in 4 weeks time. I hope he is right.

As soon as you find out anything (VIN number, dealer update) please let us all know. Many have had "orders" in for several months now!

Thanks for posting!

If you have put down a deposit, have been given a VIN are having trouble getting a status out of your dealer, PM me your VIN and I will see if I can pull the status through the computer system. No guarantees, but I'll give it a shot. Please be patient if my PM box fills up rapidly. I am not sure how many of you there are out there. If my box fills up, I will try to post when I empty it.

I appreciate you are pissed. But are you saying that they called to say they had a V8 and you put them off because you still wanted to try and get a better deal at another dealer? Did you give them a token deposit or was it refundable?

i doubt it was on a V8. there aren't any in the north east from what i can tell (polling several dealers and following websites that list V8s as being inbound but not on lot). my dealer has told me that they checked with the regional guy yesterday, and still no ship in port (NJ??). they are saying within 2 weeks now....

seems lame that you would start this advertising campaign with out a product to sell.
