  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Help! I love the integrated bluetooth, but Geeze-Louise...how do I reduce the volume on the incoming call ring tone????

It's so loud, I jump !!!! (I want to answer the phone, not cause an accident)

I thought I looked everywhere in the DIS manual, I've gone to phone settings, and info settings.

What am I missing????

Thanks everyone! From,

Acey:)

I use the radio control volume button on the dash to adjust the volume for my phone; I have the opposite problem, it's not loud enough. I don't know if this is the right answer, but it couldn't hurt!

That's correct. You have to adjust the volume while the phone is ringing.

Would the fact that I place my cell phone in the slot storage area just below the CD player contribute some feedback....like it's close to the speakers?

Today, when my phone rand, i did turn down the volume control on the steering wheel, and then the ringing sounded as if it just was coming from the phone itself. Still, that first jingle is a REAL Jangle!!!

The car does have a setting for the phone volume, You don't need to set when ringing but it can be set when on a call.
I notice that I turn up the volume for some calls (like to 31) next ring will be VERY loud.

You've got to be kidding me. I love my car, but this is the most unintuitive "feature" I've encountered yet. Not only do you have to adjust the volume while you are using the phone, but there isn't an independent adjustment for the ringer? So my choices are, can't hear the person I'm talking to on the phone, or jump out of my seat when the phone rings. Brilliant!

Forget it. The thought police have me too imtimidated to post.

:D
Please no complaints! You just think it is no loud enough or too loud what the case may be BUT remember the vast majority like it the way it is so it must be you! :D :D :D

lol. I admit, that was pretty good. :D

Actually, this thread was opened with someone complaining about the phone ringer volume. That's how I found the thread because I was looking for a solution to that problem. I didn't notice while reading the thread that a "vast majority" were saying they like it this way. Where are you getting your data from? Have you done a poll? Personally, I think it's an awful, unintuitive feature, and I can't think of a better place to complain about it than on a Hyundai Genesis Owner's forum. If you don't like my posts you don't have to read them. :D :D :D

Actually, I think the ringer volume can be set independently of general call volume - but to adjust the ringer volume you have to adjust the volume while the phone is actually ringing, not after you answer. It's been awhile since I had to mess with that particular setting, so my memory might be faulty.

@ Gripper: Your post was less than helpful. The term "troll" springs to mind.

I'm sure he meant it as a joke, given the criticism he's taken over the suspension issue. Insert "ring volume" where "suspension" would be.

Same thing with Larry's reply.

I know. But hijacking a newer member's thread when she is clearly seeking information in order to make a sarcastic reference to the ongoing schism within this forum over the suspension issue only serves to fan the flames. Frankly, I think both sides of the issue would be better served by just letting this particular thoroughly-beaten dead equine rest in peace. Now we have people getting suspended [oh, the irony] over this. I guess...

"All I am saying is give peace a chance." Group hug, everyone. :grouphug:
