  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm getting about 22 MPG average. Does anyone know if there's a chip to increase mileage?

I found a great way to increase mpg. I bought the 3.8. ,-)

There is a thread regarding 3.8 and 4.6 MPG's and it really is about the same. Both are great engines, and I love taking road trips hitting 30 mpg consistantly.

No chip available. If most people were worried about MPG's in a luxury car class, the cars would have a 4 banger available;)

why are you dissatisfied about 22 mpg in a v8? i get about 16 city/21 hwy in my 3.8.

For a V8, I'm very satisfied with the mileage. Just checking if there's a way to increase it.... thanks all.:)

Yes there is, Take a standard poker chip, and stack them on the floor behind the gas pedal.
Once the pedal movement is limited to less than 1/8Th an inch, you have completed the install.

Enjoy your improved gas mileage.

On a serious note, If I am nice and drive highways I get 29 mpg per tank , if I play and take local roads, I can get as low as 12.3 MPG per tank.

Just bought a chip from G-Force which promises 4-7 miles more and ups the horsepower by 60HP still waiting for it to arrive and they say its easy to install. I'll let you know how it works out

Wishful thinking:) 60hp is a small Turbo or supercharger. Not a chip:rolleyes:

You're not funny. Only whimps bought the V6- or those can't afford power.

I knoooows what I likes and I don't own no gazpump.

SnakeOil brand?

In NYC I am lucky if I get 13MPG on average.

A chip may void 100,000 mile warranty. As for me I don't buy Luxury cars for good gas mileage, I buy them for comfort and POWER.

new york city 13 mpg is the best I can get .... but happy my last car got 7mpg ...electronics still crap & almost done with lease, can't wait to move on !

As P.T. Barnum purportedly said "There's a sucker born every minute"

Or there's the olde English proverb "A fool and his money are soon parted".

I'm anxiously awaiting the report on how it worked out. :D

You can install a K&N and remove the sponge and flapper...you may see a slight improvement due to the less restricted air coming into the engine.
