Independent Fog Lamps

Not uncomfortable at all about expressing my opinion. God bless North America. Hahaha, so I have fog lamp envy? No, both my Hyundais have fog lamps, as well as DRLs. I added on the LED DRLs to my Santa Fe. I use the fogs only to see the road, though, not to explore my psyche, or boost a sagging ego. I don't condemn those who just want to be seen, rather than to see, as long as they don't blind others. That's why I support the law (practice) that automatically shuts off the fogs when high beam is selected. Those who defeat that feature are no friends of mine.

Having fog lights on at all times has nothing to do with boosting a sagging ego. It's simply a preference - like choice of color on an automobile. Apparently Hyundai thinks the idea is pretty good considering this is exactly how the new Sonata works - every version. This is also how most (if not ALL) cars with LED fog lights work. What we're discussing here is:

Has anyone been able to modify the LED Fog lamps to be independent of the Headlights? Currently to turn the fog lamps on, the Headlights have to be on. I would like it to be able to turn them on as I wish just by using the switch to turn them on.

It is out of the ordinary that Hyundai setup the Genesis to have fog lights that can ONLY be turned on while the headlights are on. All that's being requested here is that the Genesis operate the way cars normally do. This discussion isn't intended to be a platform for you to insult people who have a preference you don't understand.

Nobody here is specifically asking for LED fog light use while high beams are on. Beyond that, I don't even understand how or why anyone would be blinded by OEM fog lights while high beams are on. It would be the high beams that blind oncoming traffic. I honestly believe you're confusing OEM fog lights with extremely bright aftermarket fog lights and that this is all a big misunderstanding...

This mod looks like it might be easier to wire ur fog lights to work independent from the head lights. This video is showing a coupe, but I suspect the sedan has the same controls for fog lights.

Thank you. One more thing to considering if I opt for the V6. If I get the V8, I'll just deal with it as is...
