  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello,
I am one of happy owners of Genesis.
I have been trying to find an easy way to make LED Fog lights switchable anytime engine is on/or any lights on.
I have seen several threads people are trying to turn DRLs to be always on, but Im wondering if bright fog lights can be turn on anytime, so I can use them as DRLs.
Anybody tried to connect Fog light fuse to a +12V supply that becomes hot when the car turns on?

Thank you!

I think you just need to ground them to turn on. Been a while since I looked at the diagram.

My OEM fog lights were installed by an independent shop with a switch - so it can be done. I use mine all the time as DRLs - and also use them with my brights

Yes, Ive seen somebody mentioned about it, but there were no detailed instructions.
If you find the diagram, plz let me know.

Hey, so you already have the fog lights installed as a factory option? If yes, I can create the diagram on how to do what you asked in your first post. That can be done using 5 pin relay.

yes, I have the factory fog lights.
I would greatly appreciate the diagram.
Thank you!

Hey, so there are couple ways to do it. All depends on how you would like to operate them.

1. (easiest)
Fog lights always on after turning on the ignition - no ability to turn them off with stalk

2. (moderate - will require fishing wires through a firewall for a switch unless you keep the switch in the engine compartment)
Fog lights always on after turning on the ignition - ability to turn them on/off at any time with new custom switch in the cabin or engine compartment

3. (difficult - running wires through firewall and taking steering wheel column apart)
Fog lights are only on when fog light position on the stalk is positioned to "on". I don't have the stalk wiring diagram so I don't know which is the fog light wire but I am sure someone here could help us out with that information.

Please let me know which would be your preferred option and then I will create a installation instructions

Im ok with option 1.(y)

Hi kozack,

Sorry for the delay. I think that should work:

You will need the following:

- two load resistors (Amazon) Please install them on metal surface away from other electronics as they get very hot

You need this resistor to remove the error message about the blown-out fog light (if such error exists)

- two micro add a circuit fuse tap with 20amp fuse (Amazon)
