  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

information concerning the mildew smell from the ac

oh yes I can! this has been a problem two weeks after purchase and continued to get worse. The dealership even told the plant that they should buy the car back and replace, but they wanted to do this before they replace the vehicle.

Yes, I can Blame the Hyundai. That smell is back. This will be the fourth time I take it back. We'll see.

I have been back to the dealer now 4 times concerning this. they have replaced the cowling, sprayed the interior. Dismantled the passenger side carpet and under dash. Now, the fourth time they had two reps there and are now replacing the entire evap. box and heater. It wont be in until after the first. They have also stated that this is the last thing they can do to stop the mildew smell every time you start the car.

I have also run the ac with open circulation, that didn't work. The third time in I informed them that I have contacted a lawyer to apply the lemon law And I will go forward with this if it isn't fixed by the fourth time.

I, as well as many of you paid a good price for the ultimate and this is not negotiable to have to accept this as a standard. we love the car but if this isn't cured, then we have no choice. just wanted to inform all of what is and has been done to cure this. just hope this does the trick.
I have the exact same problem!! Would love to contact you! It’s sooo brutal!! My car has been in four times as well they also replaced my carpets and I felt like they didn’t wanna deal with me and so I just kept putting it off and driving with my windows open even in the winter. I was recently told not to go through a car wash because it could be leaking through the windows since there’s no frame around the windows on my 2013 Genesis. At that time they also told me my warranty is up although I’m only at 80,000 km and I did pay for an extended warranty. The issue has never been resolved and I don’t know what to do? Just got off the phone with Got off the phone with Hyundai Canada and they are going to contact the dealership I’ve been dealing with.

You could try spraying the cabin air intake with hydrogen peroxide. Make sure the ac is on and the air circulation is set to the interior cabin. Hydrogen peroxide should kill the mold spores. May want to remove the cabin air filter as well. Let the peroxide sit in the ac system vents and all. Let the peroxide sit for 12 hours or so then spray Klima-Cleaner Professional Application into the vents. Also get Damp Rid or some other water absorber product and leave it in the cabin.
