  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Heres my story.

I purchased an INJEN Intake SP1390 on 4/14/2010.

At that time , INJEN advertised it to fit all 3.8L Genesis vehicles. I thought, hey , I have a Sedan, thats cool we have a new intake.

I bought it from a local wholeseller, and all was good. Until I got it.

It was pecifically made for the coupe, I could see this immediately once I saw the intake pipes. I package it back up, and send it back to the wholeseller, and they send it back to INJEN. 4+ weeks go by, and I finally get an email, saying the filter was damaged, and I would have to pay the difference for the filter.

I never opened the filter, instructions bag, or there crappy license plate frame. I returned it, and paid for it myself. If something was damaged, they should claim it with UPS. I know a filter does not cost $100

Anyhow, the wholeseller, wont back me up. INJEN wants compensation, and im out $300 plus the S/H back and forth.

Kind of sux, thats my rant, and for all who doubt me and say I bought the wrong parts. Here is an official INJEN Press Release.

Dont support INJEN. I cannot even get them on the phone. I am not even sure of they R&D anything they sell!

i assume you ordered through plastic, be sure to call your customer service and explain it to them and dispute the charge. They'll have them runnin around

Great advise Dimitry. In addition, he could start a case with the BBB.

thanks for clrifying. i was about ready to order one for my 3.8 sedan. i guess not though. they eve put the sedans picture in the ad. lol

Given that the sedan is pictured in the product advertisement, you might have a claim under your state's deceptive trade practices act (the ad is arguably misleading). You might want to consider filing a complaint with your state's consumer protection agency.

I had the same issue. I ordered the part and it didn't fit. So I said FU to Injen and I went to a local speed shop, Advanced Race Technology (ART) and they built me one for $400. We dyno'd it and got an additional 14whp in 93 degree heat! The owner says he'll build a kit for y'all and send you detailed install instructions. Here is ART's digits: 9415393004. Call these guys. I'll post a you tube link to the dyno shesh in a minute.

I used plastic to buy mine too. Guy who sold it to me told me it was my fault that it didn't install correctly and the people at Injen told me that the part number I had purchased wasn't on file in their system. I fought with the guy I bought it from for weeks to get my $ back. Call the BBB. If you want to add some HP's and MPG's call my boys at ART. They hooked it up with a real cold air intake, non of this short ram shit that doesn't do anything but pull hot engine bay air. Keep in mind, I'm in FL and its hot as hell right now so it'll make more power in the winter months. Here is a video of our dyno sesh after the install, I couldn't get the Genesis to say in gear but we still made decent HP:

Overall from the catback, h-pipe, crank pulley and CAI I was able to add +26whp. Not too shabby and the CAI made the car run a bit quieter too. Enjoy.

The issue does not seem to be with Injen but with the outfit used for the purchase. Always use plastic. Always get your questions answered in writing. Buyer beware.
