  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a certified pre-owned 2017 G80 and got caught up in the "3g sunset" I'm having trouble getting an absolute answer regarding the installation of a 3rd party starter and voiding my warranty. Any information would be gladly appreciated.

No, it does not void your warranty. The one I added (12V solutions) was plug-n-play, so no wires to cut or splice. If I ever need to, I can remove it with no evidence that it was ever there.

Remember, warranty laws are very clear, much to the disappointment of the majority of fear-mongering Stealerships who are so often looking for any excuse to NOT honor a warranty: Unless what you did (or didn't do) can be reasonably attributed to resulting in a, "warranted peril," then the warranty stands.

So if you install a remote starter and the rear axle fails... warranty applies. However, if the starter motor burns out... you might have a more difficult claim to justify.
