  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I recently started experiencing a bunch of sensor warning messages on my instrument cluster:
I brought by vehicle into the dealer, and they said that the camera inside the rearview mirror mount is malfunctioning. They quoted me $1200 for a replacement camera and $1600 for labor.

I've seen some cameras listed on eBay as "Lane Keep Assist Camera" or "Front Warning Windshield Camera" for as little as $50.

First, is this the one camera used by all three assist features?

Second, can a camera pulled off a different vehicle be reprogrammed for use? (My understanding is that the cameras do need to be programmed.)

Third, do you think a Genesis dealer would be willing to install a camera that I purchased myself AND reprogram it?

1: probably
2: a same year G70? Could work, maybe even without reprogramming (some calibration is probably required
3: very unlikely.
