  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Instrument Panel Display Software Error - July '25

Maybe some of those NHTSA complaints actually worked. The disappearance of the IP is a clear violation of FMVSS 101. The HMA filing to NHTSA is dated 07/17/2025.

The Title is: Safety Recall 027G Instrument Cluster

Note that the "fix" is/will be software-only, and according to the media article, can be deployed via OTA. However, according to the documentation dated July 25, 2025, the issue does not yet have a remedy. The media article implies the fix is ready to deploy, but apparently not the case.

Applicable vehicles are: "Certain" 2023-2025MY GV60 (JW1 EV) produced from 02/04/2022 – 05/14/2025.

I just looked on the US Genesis Recall site, entered my VIN, but no recalls showed up. Hmm?

Letters to go out in Sept, so - possible that the recall isn't published at NHTSA/Genesis yet?

Just received a letter from Genesis yesterday for this recall. Unfortunately it looks like they are not doing it OTA - it says to call to schedule bringing the car in. Has anyone here had this fixed yet? Wondering how long it might take. The letter says, “The actual time required to perform the software update on your vehicle will take less than 30 minutes, however, your vehicle may be needed longer.”

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I have encountered this a handful of times and it was very spooky. Happy to see this recall.
I also do not see my VIN as indicated for this recall. So we think this is 'limited' in some fashion?

Good question. My VIN also doesn’t show up, though I only had the black IP once for about 10 sec. Perhaps the VINs are not all loaded at this point? Affected owners are also supposed to get a letter in the mail by Sep 15.

CORRECTION. The NHTSA site says, “Owner notification letters were mailed August 22, 2025”. Anyone get one??

Nope

Gads...another 'black eye' for Hyundai/Genesis/Kia..."Remedy Not Available"...

I think I got this doc from or through Genesis itself, based on the suggested dialogue for dealers contacting customers.

You will get your recall notice in the package your NACS adapter comes in (just guessing...I haven't received either).

More information about the software upgrades that the 027G TSB will perform...

For MY 2023 and MY2024 GV60's, the "Current" AVN software should be: JW.USA.ccIC.001.009.240923 or before

After performing the TSB for Recall 027G, the software version will be: JW.USA.ccIC.001.009.250707

The TSB also notes that "In the rare case that a vehicle has software version JW.USA.ccIC.001.013.250305 for the
GV60 (JW1 EV), it does NOT need to be updated."

On a personal note, I'm one of the "rare" cases, with software ...250305. Lol or cry?
