  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi guys. I bought a 3.8l intake for my car off ebay. It is a short ram unit which is fine as it installs right where the oem cold air box is. The problem is the intake makes barely any noise. I then tried playing with the intake resonators taking both of them off and putting caps over each. This did nothing to increase noise. What could the problem be here?

Hey I know I am late but how did the intake turn out for you? I was planning on getting the exact same one.

Removing the resonators should of done some, as well as getting rid of the air box. My engine cover had sound deadening on it, have you tried removing the engine cover and seeing if it makes a noticeable difference?

Besides not making enough noise, how does the intake perform is more of my question. Do you recommend the purchase?
