  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I recently purchased a used 2019 G70 2.0T. Great car so far. I noticed at times when I’m idle at a light, etc. that the ISG light in the Instrument cluster is yellow. Not blinking yellow. Not green. I looked in the manual and saw nothing about ISG light being solid yellow. Anyone can help me with what this is about?

Battery has to be in good health and battery state of charge needs to be 70% or greater for the ISG system to work. Those are the most common causes. Solid yellow means it is not activating, not necessarily it is broken.

From your owner's manual. Note the next to the last paragraph.

There are frequent claims that using ISG will wear out the starter. AFAIK, no one has presented a single case of this happening. The feature has been out there for a few years now. You'd think that we would be seeing a lot of starter failures if there was any truth to this unfounded fear.

If you go back some in these forums there are multiple posts of the ISG system failing. Sometimes failing to the point the car had to be turned back in. The first thing the dealership does is change the starter. But the issue always seem to be with the ISG system itself. I personally always cut mine off after I start the car. I don't trust it.

Yeah I think I will turn it off. ......
