  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It appears Hyundai has started to provide different interior color combos with the latest V6s. I ran across the following interior picture of a white Genesis with black interior. Notice the difference?

This is the first Genesis I've seen with the dash inserts being black leather instead of brown leather. If you've been holding out to see if Hyundai would provide different combinations, here is your confirmation.

I can confirm, but not sure it's a choice. It appears they made some production changes in August. Separate thread reported trunk liners in newer V6s. I just returned from Tampa Bay Intl Auto Show where they had two Genesis on display, drawing huge crowds. Both were 3.8s, one Silver/Blk and one Sapphire Blue/Cashmere....both had the black insert on the dash. I asked if these demo cars came from a local dealer or just followed the show around. They said actually Hyundai ships new cars to each show site, and after the show the cars get transferred to a local dealer.

makes me wonder if i should have waited a bit longer, i really wanted the all black dash..

checked it out on hmaservice....the dash doesn't look to bad to change out, but the door panels look like they are all one piece and would probably making changing colors cost prohibitive.

Has anyone out there purchased a black/cashmere/tech/4.6 yet? If so I was wondering what the leather color on the dash was. One dealer told me it would be the saddle and another told me it was cashmere. Maybe it will now be black. I'd really like to know what color it will be. I have only seen the 3.8 and it had saddle. I wonder if you actually ordered a car if Hyundai would let you choose?

FWIW, my 3.8 Tech is White Satin Pearl w/ cashmere. The dash, etc., is saddle.

Thanks Wordman! I have only seen two 3.8 interiors, one cashmere, one black and both had the saddle dash. They must have been earlier production cars.

The dash on our 3.8 is all black, Im not really a fan of the "saddle" color

Just picked mine up 2 days ago and I can confirm the all Black dash as that was what was placed in mine. I have white v-6 with Tech pack and Cashmere. It does look better in my opinion as the black with saddle tended to be kind of ugly together. Black and cashmere would have been better if the interior was cashmere as well.

BigTrace;

I agree! Thats what I would like to see. The leather dash insert the same as the interior color.

Different strokes for different folks! :)

I love the wheels on my 3.8 and I love the saddle dash/door trim. All black would be too stark. In fact, the only thing I would change on my interior is the wood trim color. I prefer the dark wood trim that comes on the Cashmere interior. The Saddle interior wood is too red and the black/saddle and black/black interior wood trim is too brown.

Having had eight years of a black/black Ford Mustang, I really like the light, airy feeling of the cashmere/saddle combination inside my white satin pearl V6 Tech. And a white car in SoCal takes longer to look dirty than a black car, believe me...

I have a friend that works at a Lexus dealership. He says they get an unusually large number of late model Lexus trade-ins simply because their light colored interiors are stained/dirty. Many are low-mileage cars. The Lexus designer who put white carpeting in a car is either a marketing genius or a disassociated moron. They employ specialists who spend a lot of time to get those interiors ready for the used-car section, many times having to dye or replace the carpeting.

I like the look of the light colored interiors, but my lifestyle dictates black!

Hmmm. Wait. I'm thinking "disassociated moron"... Give me black carpets, regardless of the rest of the interior color, any day...
