  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm not sure if this was previously discussed.... My 2015 Genesis Ultimate pkg has an issue the dealer can't seem to figure out. Often the car's climate control will start blowing very moist air into the car causing the windshield to completely fog over on the inside. Then after a minute or so the defrost comes on full blast and eventually the condensation is gone. Frustrating and border line unsafe. This is all in the auto mode and without touching any controls ....Thoughts ??

There are a lot of threads/post on the subject of mildew in the A/C on the 2015 Genesis. Both the mildew issue, and the issue you describe, would seem to suggest that there may be some reservoir of trapped water in the system that is not properly draining. I have no evidence of this, but it is just a theory.

If your A/C eventually starts smelling of mildew upon startup, that would tend to confirm my theory.

You don't say what weather you are in, but is the AC drain hose working? If it is partially plugged there could be water left in the system that will do that.

Thanks for the help........I am in the Seattle area. No shortage of moisture, but I have never had a car do this in the past.....

Try this, go to Climate, then menu, then turn off auto defroster. Worked for me.

Same for me... there are 2 choices in there... one for Defog Logic, and another for fresh air or something like that. When I got the car, had some fogging issues, and the climate control had the fan level fluctuating, and running high. Once I turned both features off, all is well.
