  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

It has been more than 3 years since i bought it and i dont have extended warranty. Electronic warranty is only until three years right?

There is a switch on the lower left of the steering wheel. Did you happen to bump anything or change anything? It will adjust the brightness of the lights. Could also be a bad switch. Could be something else but at least check that if you have not already.

Thank EdP. will check that out first. But regarding the electronic warranty, is it true that it only covers the first 3 years?

That illumination switch controls the interior lighting and display brightness. I have noticed that sometimes it is set too low or almost off and I have to turn it up. And I dont recall turning it down. Does the illumination setting get adjusted automatically? Or is it strictly me ual?

It's manual. I've heard of some people catching it with their knees somehow though.

Strictly a manual setting. Unless you bump it or vibration moves it, the position and brightness should never change. If you think that is happening, try putting a piece of clear tape over it.

Lot of good advice here :)

For me, every time a different seat setting is engaged it resets the illumination setting to medium (mine is set on high), I've always thought maybe the 2 were tied together. It doesn't adjust back though...just always resets to medium.

Just had my '15 radar replaced by warranty @ 48k miles and 59 months.

Update: I just figured yesterday that the illumination button was already at max. My light setting was set to DRL off (last position), I changed it to Auto and voila all interior lights came back. This is weird considering DRL off should mean only DRL off and nothing else

Incognito mode? It actually makes sense if you don't want to be seen. Does that setting affect how your wife/girlfriend gets turned on?

I just did a controlled test and confirmed the illumination setting is saved and restored by the two preset buttons. Mystery solved. Set the driver's seat and illumination setting to 5. Press the Set button and button 1. Set the driver's seat and illumination setting to 19. Press the Set button and button 2. The Next time you press preset button 1 illumination will be set to 5. Pressing preset button 2 illumination will be set to 19.
