  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Intermittent heated seat

Traded my car in on something else. LOL.
Didn't want a bunch of issues to deal with outside of warranty.

I've been having similar issues w/ my driver side seat. The dealer told me it would cost $475 to replace the whole unit. It's a nice feature, but not that nice. Was anyone able to come up with a DIY fix??

See my (je01016) reply from 11/19/13. Also, I read somewhere that if the driver weighs under 145 lbs, the seat guts don't get crushed to the extent that the seat heater fails. I think the problem only happens on the drivers side, as the passenger seat does not have the cooling function, which evidently is the cause of all this. Once the coils were installed, I've never had a problem, and I weigh 200 lbs.

I have the same problem.

I have the same problem.

I have the same problem too. I haven't been able to find the TSB that somebody mentioned for this yet. I'm not able/willing to pay a dealer to fix this, so I need to find a fix myself.

Just got mine looked at today the dealer said that it was fine. But the seat will not get that hot only warm. They gave me some stupid response . I will go back to find out more at my next service.

Can you ask them about the TSB that others have mentioned here. I can't find it anywhere. I'm willing to poke around with my seat, but some guidance from the TSB that others have mentioned would be great!

Hey guys does any one have a dyi for installing the springs around the breather tubes for the driver seat? I have a 2009 4.6 Genesis sedan

My dealer said that the Hyundai tech believes the problem is with the air tubes getting crushed when sitting on the seat.. causing the heater elements to overheat. (Seems similar to the cooling seat problem others have reported). They ordered some springs that are supposed to fix the problem. I get the car back tonight. I'll report back.
I know this was a while ago, but do you know what kind of springs they replaced?
