Intermittent Shifting issues

I’ve had my g80 for about 2 years. Purchased with 25k miles, currently has 53k miles. About a year ago I noted some intermittent hard shifts from 1st to 2nd. It would happen about once a month. Slowly began to occur more often. When taken to diagnose ( no dash lights on) no codes popped. When test drove, no issues- still unable to diagnose. Had tires replaced 6months ago, and mechanic mentioned the rear differential. He suggested I keep an eye on any leaking or vibrations. No such thing has happened, however it has begun shifting erratically almost every time I drive it now. I’m wondering if anyone else has had to replace this part for this particular shifting malfunction. If so… what was the range of cost… I’m trying to decide where to put money…into this beauty or purchase another one

I don't know if anybody got back to you on this issue Rox, but I too have had this 1-2/2-3 shifting problem, mostly in the summer/warm weather, it is a well documented on this Forum.
