  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Nice choice! You'll enjoy it. Buying a brand you've not had is a big step. I'm on #6 now so it worked for me.

Sorry for the very delayed reply. I figured I would get notified whenever someone commented on one of my posts, but that seems not to be the default behavior of this site.

To answer your question, a 2021 Mercedes E450 Coupe.

Yes, with this community you need to subscribe to discussions - unless you set all participated-in discussions to automatically subscribe you. If you need help with that, let me know and I'll point you to the account page to set that up.

Otherwise, how are you liking your brand new G70 compared to the Mercedes-Benz E450 Coupe? How do the two compare?

Overall impression: the E450 feels more solid (it's 400 pounds heavier), and the G70 feels more agile. I didn't order Head-Up Display for the E450 (it was available), so that's a nice upgrade on my Prestige model. And the safety warnings are much more aggressive on the G70 (I didn't get all of those options on the Merc); very much appreciated now. Also, Digital Key 2 wasn't available on the E450. Probably the biggest single difference is not with the cars, but with the companies. You can tell that MB is operating with a 129-year head start over Genesis.

P.S. The Merc has (at least) a couple of extra tricks:
1. Its headlamps swivel left-right and, when you turn, the Merc will swivel them to illuminate the road where you're going, even though you aren't pointed there yet.
2. The Merc has optional support for dashcam, which captures the forward-looking camera to a user-supplied USB stick.

Thank you for your review and comparison. Yes, Mercedes does have an edge - on pretty much every brand out there. There's a reason why their vehicles cost so much. But the playing field has leveled quite a bit over the past decade - and Genesis is doing a great job with their luxury sport vehicles. They're excellent automobiles and real head-turners. That dashcam support is a great idea. I hope all manufacturers incorporate that into their vehicles some day.
