  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Introducing the Genesis G70 Luxury Performance Sedan

Could be. The English language would point in that direction but the Bahranian license plates suggest the Middle East. Couldn't see whether the speedo was in MPH or KPH. But I doubt they'd make a US ad and use Middle Eastern license plates.

It said KM next to the fuel symbol at the top of the gauge cluster.

Really dark and hard to see the car in most of the video. I would find it hard to believe that would be an official commercial from Genesis.

I thought it was dark too, but perhaps a TV version is brighter. This may have gone through some questionable sources to get here.

Look at my screenshot above. The YouTube video was published by Genesis Bahrain. No known additional sources.

This was released on Fri (June 29) officially on the Genesis News site. It has been around here and there...but not officially from their site.

Surprised it was not part of their press release, etc.

Anyhoo...you have probably seen it...but this is REALLY excellent quality...

Now that is an introduction!

Impressive video! I like the freeze frames on the curves.

Looks like some changes to the Genesis USA site.

Home/entry page updated a bit...and the G70 has a new URL that is consistent with the other 2 models. Before it was in a "sedan" subfolder on the server.

Clicking on G70 has a new layout, etc...
Genesis G70

The Get Updates page is slightly different now as well.

Main menu (top right) has been modified...cleaned up hiding "Future Vehicles", etc.

Obviously the Build feature is still not there for the G70...neither is the model comparison, etc.

And...you cannot request a quote for the G70 either...LOL. That would have been too easy.

So...progress...they are definitely prepping for "something". I think we are getting close folks.

And...the 4th (and final) Press Release just came out !!...

Genesis Newsroom

To note...USA gets 2 extra trims at launch (limited time)...wonder if any performance increases or just cosmetic.

Two limited-run Special Edition models will debut at launch: the G70 Dynamic Edition and G70 Design Edition. Based on G70 3.3T Sport, these models embody the essence of G70 performance and styling, respectively.

Available in Havana Red with a black interior with red contrast stitching, the performance-tuned G70 3.3T Dynamic Edition optimizes weight with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires (replacing Pilot Sport 4) and a tire repair kit, adds performance brake pads, and offers a bespoke key cover.

The 3.3T Design Edition will be painted in exclusive Black Forest Green and will feature a cream-colored interior with a contrasting, dark green upper instrument panel. A premium cabin air filter, embossed Genesis winged logo headrests, and a bespoke key cover complete the Design Edition package. Both special-edition models will be available with either RWD or AWD.

Design Edition probably means it get a pink bow
Dynamic Edition sounds like performance. Many possibilities there.

Why would you post what I literally just posted 20 min ago right above?

Even for a performance-oriented guy like me, the Dynamic doesn't seem to offer too much. Better tires and brake pads probably won't make a huge difference over the standard Brembos and Michelin Pilots. And the special key cover is sort of laughable. The Dynamic saves some weight by losing the spare and going with a tire repair kit but I think I prefer the peace of mind that comes with a spare, having had need for one in the past year when I bent a rim as a school bus nearly ran me off the road. No tire repair kit would have helped as the tire was fine but the edge of the rim bent enough for the tire to leak its air. Plus, I get the impression the Dynamic is only available in red with red stitching on the leather. Not necessarily my first choice. Still, it's nice that they're increasing the available options for customers.

It may be that the Dynamic offers more than what is listed, like some more aggressive suspension and engine tuning in Sport mode. A bit more boost, perhaps? That, frankly, would be a lot more appealing than what they've described.

It's nice to see that you guys are getting an either/or option for AWD.

Prestige is great for those that wants features like HUD, surround camera and Nappa leather without going to 19" summers and the other handling stuff. It's more of a luxury version. Nice addition.

The top dogs ramble on.

Note...very little G70 content so nothing exciting. Figured I'd share anyway.

Here’s something I’m trying to figure out.

What current sedan is closest in length and width to the G70?

G70 ~
Length.: 184.5 in.
Wheelbase: 111.6 in.
Width: 72.8 in.
Height: 55.1 in.

I’ve looked at BMW 3 series, Audi A4, Lexis IS, Mercedes C class and nothing matches. A couple are similar in length atound 184-ish, but nothing that length is as wide as 72.8.

G70 is the widest car in its competitive set. In terms of footprint (length x width) it's near identical to a C-Class, but it trades a shorter length for a wider stance and track.
