  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I wanted to introduce myself. Taking delivery this afternoon of a 2015 Genesis 5.0 Ultimate. Caspian black/black. Traded in my 2014 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Ultimate 6MT/Casablanca White, after five months. I loved the GC. However, after reading many articles, watching videos and driving the 5.0 Ultimate, the Genesis 5.0 Ultimate is what I wanted. I have read many threads posted on the forum and learned some useful information about the car. Was able to get the dealership to include four Bridgestone Blizzak tires also. I'll post up pictures later on. Look forward to chatting with you folks on the board.

How much of a bath did you take on your trade?

Congrats, and :welcome:! You must be super-excited! I know I feel like a kid on Christmas on the day I pick up a new car. Ah well, next year.

Welcome to team Caspian Black 5.0 Ultimate!!

Gave me $25,000.00 for the trade in. Paid $32,000.00 five months ago. I was able to negotiate the price down to $50,000.00 for the 2015.

Thanks and yes I am. I feel the same way.

Removed the front plate. Looks so much better IMO.

Pick yourself up one of these for the rear deck... It is an easy install.

Here is mine... I also removed the Genesis & 5.0 as I like the cleaner look. :D

Sad how no one responded to the fact that poster took a $7000 bath on their "had to have" car. Sure dealer threw in those tires. Of course they would. Compared to what they made off of you, those tires are pennies to them. Probably hosed you on the purchase of the original 2014 Genesis. All in all, this little transaction probably cost you north of at least $10,000, but hey, if you like losing that much money, so be it. To each his own.

Why is it sad? It's their money - if they felt the loss was worth it to get the car they feel is a better fit for their needs, why would anyone here have a problem with that?

What would be the point of doing that? To make him feel bad? No thanks. That's not my style.

Obviously I knew I was going to take a loss trading the GC in. As I previously wrote, only had the car five months. I negotiated the sticker price down $6,000.00 for the sedan. I paid $32,000.00 for the 2014 GC 3.8 Ultimate. I absolutely love this car and have zero regrets trading in the coupe for the sedan.

You made the right move in my opinion. This car is superior compared to the coupe. Congrats on the new ride...

Thank you and I love driving this car. I haven't missed the driving the coupe at all.

De "H'ed" this afternoon. Much better having both emblems match.

Looks better without the free dealership advertising license plate frame. Window tint is next.

Nice... I too came from a smaller car. Drove a 2002 Honda SI coupe for 12 years. It is so nice hopping into a rear wheel drive car again. Specially with 420HP :D
