  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

With the size of the iPad Mini, the size of a double din stereo, many people (myself included) are ditching their car stereos in favor of utilizing the many features of the iPad. These include navigation, internet radio, etc. I would like to start a thread asking fellow Genesis owners to post their experience with iPad integration if they have done this. Either done a hard install(modified their dash, etc) or how they may have mounted the iPad in some other way.

I am expecting delivery of a Exogear iPad dash mount unit today and will post pictures.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I am VERY interested to see what you come up with. I don't think the mini fits flush into our nav screen, but then again, I haven't tried ;)

Let us know!

I have pondered this idea with a Motorola Xoom 10.1" Android tablet in my Dakota R/T. What has held me back is the fact that any tablet does not have the proper audio outputs (front, rear, sub) to integrate into a higher end system as a standalone head unit. Too bad, because with a little bondo and paint it would be a perfect fit and look sharp as hell!

I thought about running a dedicated EQ to handle such duties, but that is all the further I have taken it. My current in-dash has nav, iPod, and BT, and is a touch screen, so it already does what I need it to do. It also has built in crossovers and sound processing; whereas the Xoom (or any tablet) does not.

Received the Exogear ExoMount S. I have to say I am very impressed with the quality. They really thought of everything with regard to quality and positions. As you can see I have it so it covers my existing screen. This way I can reach it easily. I don't need to see the stock radio screen cause I am listening to the iPad (iTunes, Pandora, etc). I have the controls on my steering wheel. For those of us without the tech package, it is a great solution. Not too mention I can email, text etc all without using my hands with my personal assistant Siri! And it works great!

Just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0" tablet tonight... and the first thing I did after I removed it from the box was to slide it onto the nav screen. It fits in there!

New project... fabricate a mount!
