Ipod Classic Issues with 2011 Genesis 4.6

I have an ipod classic with 115 gigs worth of music on it and I have not been able to get my expensive system to recognize alblums and artists. It shows songs and playlists. I was able to get it to work one time but have no idea how it happended. The ipod worked fine in my friends 2010 Mercedes 550 SLS and in a Ford Explorer recently.

When I took it in for an oil change I told them about it and they kept the car for a day and tech played with it and got it to work on and off but it would not stick. He suggested that I wipe the Ipod and restore and see what happened. I did that last night and nothing is different this morning.

Any one have any suggestions. This is a drag for a car that cost this much.

I have an IPod classic. I am afraid you will have to live with its limitations in the Genesis. The owners' manual clearly states the IPod classic is "not supported."

Which Ipod does work or would you recommend just getting a large thumb drive or hard drive that works connected to the usb port of the Genesis.

Have you tried loading it with less music? I have an 80GB classic, and I see everything. Playlists, Artists, Albums, Songs, etc.

I will try that since it sees everything on the 16 gigs of music on my iphone.
